For those who don't know you can assign look left & right functions on your Ds3 or Steering Wheel without using head-tracking or the cockpit view only. Just go to settings page, and then to controller config, and set the look left/right functions to a button of your choosing, and have a happy good time taking those corners and straights side by side finally without hoping not to hit someone because you couldn't look out your side windows,.... yes! 👍

Although I already knew this, as my steering wheel has a look left and right function as default, I'm pretty sure that many people will find this information that you have posted very useful 👍 .

Very handy, I used them before L2 and R2 became manual transimisison buttons for me.

Its good a lot of you guys knew already. I'm hopeing to better everyone side by side action since there's got to be tons of people who still dont know. Thanks for the replies since they keep this tread on the main page! 👍

It's almost vital to have the side view buttons at hand all the time. A quick glance will keep you posted on if the other guy is alongside.

I just set it to the analog sticks, and with it there it is easy to flick in mid racing action plus you can scan 180 degrees!

I had mapped 2 buttons to do this on my wheel the day we got support for the G27. It is a very useful function.

I used to run the d-pad and buttons on the DS3 with L2 and R2 as the shifters. I used d-pad up and down for right and left, respectively. Crude, maybe, but it worked for me.

Now I've got a wheel and all's well.

Did people really not know this? If you ever remap your controller, which a lot of people do, surely you'd notice... lol.

I'm usually far too busy keeping the car on track so I hardly ever use the "look" function :D (have it assigned to my right stick)

I used this with the analog stick before I got a wheel, but for some reason never occurred to me to set it on the DFGT... Will def try it out.
