I thought some of you might like this... Showing off a little of the versatility of my SFA1 adapter.

In working in a special project for a customer that cannot use pedals, I decided to do some testing with the SFA1 and a TH8RS shifter in handbrake mode...

There were no pedals used in the video. I have the SFA1 plugged into the pedal port on my wheel using a standard PS2 cable. The TH8RS is in handbrake mode. At the midpoint there is no throttle or brake, forward is throttle, back is brake.

If I had FFB on my wheel and had it mounted properly, I could have been driving a little better here. That said, it was actually kind of fun driving like this!

(sorry I'm using Forza here... I didn't feel like moving my main wheel off my rig)

I should note... This could be used with any wheel given the proper cable from the SFA1 to the wheel.

Except this handbrake isn't a handbrake, it's the gas and brake ;)

Now this would be awesome for guys like Nicolas Hamilton who has cerebral palsy.
Hadn't even crossed my mind to use it this way yet.

Wouldn't one of those Simraceway/SteelSeries wheel rims be a more efficient design? Sorry but reaching out your arm to operate gas/brake screams unergonomic to me.

Heres some recourses regarding hand operated controls with disabled race drivers like Alex Zanardi etc.

I agree and no need to apologize. However, to my knowledge that wheel doesn't work on the Xbox or PS3. Nor does it have force feedback. I'm sure having options is a good thing. :)

What made me think of this was actually a guy in a race club I am a part of. He posted a long time ago looking for a solution like this for his MS wireless wheel: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=chZBlUVZGb4 (the way hand controls are normally done in road cars)

The person that I am working with right now is actually going to try some triggers on his wheel rim as well to see how he likes that.

At any rate... I'm sure glad I can use my legs. :/
