To increase immersion for users with single screens (which I would assume will be the vast majority), a Look To Apex option would be very useful. Having a fixed camera with interior views is very restricting and not really realistic. Allowing users to look beyond the apex for the exit point would help enormously.

People complained about this in Shift 2, but once you get used to it, you wonder how you ever got on without it.

Well said man. Like a helmet cam like in Need For Speed Shift 2. That feature is what made that game one hell of a racing game.

I think I'd find it more annoying than immersive if the camera shook and moved too much relative to the car. Fixing (or almost fixing) the camera to the car helps me percieve the motion of the car. I think it compensates for not being able to feel its motion. O.o?

Interesting thread.

The Playstation Eye Head Tracking in GT5 is an alternative method of looking to the apex. I have not tried it, since I couldn't see myself turning my head to the side while looking straight ahead.

Here is a demo/review. It concludes that this implementation of head tracking is not quite up to the task, but is interesting technology. The reviewer clearly looks uncomfortable turning his head away from where his eyes are looking.

@super_gt, I like the look of your first video, with automatic looking to apex.

@Takata, if the behavior of the effect was adjustable, it might be more immersive than annoying. Maybe. I'm guessing, of course.

Multiscreen is fantastic, I can assure you, having used it in four generations of Forza. The ability to see right into the next corners feels so much more realistic than having my eyes glued straight ahead. PS3s are much cheaper now, as are good quality monitors.

Yes first video is very good,I like it too.
But the best solution is support for 21:9 TV.
After several years all new tv's will become 21:9 screen fomat.

this looks very annoying. at first glance it looks cool and like a good idea but once i saw it on the track I got tired of it and there's no point of it you already got a clear view of the exit of the turn unless its a blind corner. in real life you dont twist your head and neck to notice the exit of the corner your eyes just move that way on their own and thats what I do in gt6 I look to the edge of the screen to see the track.

 you are off your rocker, man.

What I mean is, features that are predicted to be liked by everyone will be prioritised.

I think that playstation eye headtracking is kinda ridiculous. As for headtracking technology that uses a head-mounted screen... depends on how good the head-mounted screen is. That said, it looks highly conceptual, and hardly anyone would have the required hardware.

If I want to look to the apex, I'll turn my eyes to the side of the screen and look at it normally. If it falls off the edge of the screen too soon, perhaps the view angle (and maybe screen size) should be wider.

I liked the sound of the Takata Dome NSX in GT4. It sounded... "smoother" than the other NSXs. Roof fin/intake also looked nice. ^^

As long as it was optional, & we could change the amount, I'd say yeah.

👍
