Have you tried the Volkswagen Kubelwagen. Max speed is no more that 45 or so, slow acceleration, turns pretty well and you need minimum breaking to slow it down. Just get ready for some long laps!

I know it ain't "cool" looking but my kids love the funny way it looks!

I don't have kids but the Kubelwagen is an excellent choice. 👍 Besides, if you call it a "Dune Buggy" they might like it even more.

Go-Karts are another fun thing to drive after he gets the hang of the "Dune Buggy" :gtpflag:

Why are you asking people, when you can just test cars out with him and find out yourself what car your son can "drive".

Just let him use whatever car he wants

I can tell you don't have kids. The boy will probably want to drive an X2010 or something. Then when he does, he ends up crying in frustration. I totally see where the OP is coming from, give 'em the look and make 'em feel like they're "driving like daddy" and the whole experience is less stressful for all. :)

You don't have kids so how would you know?

There are over 1000 cars in the game. The OP is just asking for a few suggestions.

Have you ever asked for help with some aspect of the game on this forum before? How helpful is it when you recieve an answer that says "just try every possible variable and go with the one that works best." ?

Nope I actually never have asked a question about gameplay in these forums. :)

How do you know he (or she, dunno) doesn't have kids? (yeah, I'm slow, I know.)
Besides, it's a fair point to make, I think.

From the experiences with my younger (way younger) cousin, I can only advocate using a slow car.
Being stuck in the gravel isn't fun, no matter the car. And since GT5 isn't exactly Mod nation Racers, that'll happen. A lot.

what about a RM'd Lotus? handles well i think and looks good :)

I'm actually 19. :)

Hey Dude, I don't have kids either but I can relate to the OP's situation because I am an uncle and I was a kid once too. If you don't have any constructive info then go to another thread to up your post count. 👎

Although I estimate your mental age to be around 4.

If you don't have anything constructive to offer, why bother to keep posting in the thread?

To increase the post count I assume? :indiff:

Anyway, i think the Integra RM'ed would be a good choice, it's FF, not so powerful, and with soft racing tires it's glued to the ground. And it looks amazing to me 👍

I agree, or the Integra Touring Car

Can we get away from the petty insults and back onto the topic please?

So from the OP: You've got my point exactly. I'm was searching for a car that looks like hell and drives quite lame :dopey:

But on the other side I think the suggested Kuebelwagen isn't the best choice either as I remember several threads complaining how hard it is to succeed in the Top Gear Special Events :sly:

The Top Gear events can be challenging because you can't tune the car at all, and they're set up to be difficult. But taking the Kubelwagen out for a spin is an easy drive. The Schwimmwagen is actually a blast, too, and easy to drive. It also looks really cool on the track, and a kid might really like it. :)

Pump it up a bit with a turbocharger and a stiff suspension kit, and the Schwimmwagen is just fun.

How about the Mazda Atenza Touring Car. It's 311 HP, 1070 kg, 4WD, has downforce, & looks cool in it's blue & yellow Goodyear paint scheme.

I'd be happy to give your son a X2010 to practice on the ring with.

And when he want something a little faster, try the Integra Type R '04 RM, 242 Hp with no other modifications and soft racing tires, it's one of the easiest car to drive in the game to me 👍 And it's beautiful!

Ill second that plus you can spray it a nice cool colour.

Hmmm, does he like "race" or "sports" car better? If he likes the latter better, you might want to give the Mazda AZ-1 a try. You can add full body kit to it, add a big wing and paint it some nicer color (even though a kid might like the original blue or red). Looks like a toy car, drives like an oversized kart, and fully tuned will go to around 180HP, if I'm not mistaken. Plus, it can be bought new at the Mazda dealer! I myself have a lot of fun with it :)

The Audi's are pretty forgiving, although they are a little on the fast side.

There's also a Mazda concept car, the Kusabi, or something like that. About 140 hp, and a pretty forgiving drive. Slap some good race tires on it, and it should be fairly easy to handle.

Because I can. :)

Not for a while anyway. Too many useless posts, and taking no notice of the warnings you've been given about them, sees you get a week's ban.

EDIT Now made permanent due to other accounts.

kubelwagen or schwimmwagen (although kubelwagen steers better for a 6 year old).

And maybe the samba bus?

If he wants to drive a "race" car maybe the cusco advan impreza?

Elise rm '96 with full downforce but no mods other than racing softs.

Drives like a 'car' fro, wipeout.

I really don't think that the Kubelwagen or Schwimmwagen would be a good choice... I mean, I'm 21 years old and I find these cars a little boring, and if I find them to be boring, I assume that a 6 year boy would find them much boring than me... Ok, he has to learn the game, but he can actually learn the game driving something that can go over 100 mph and can enjoy him. Just my personal opinion anyway.

When I was 6, I received my 1st RC car, it was a Silver Lambo Murc. Today some thirty yrs later , this is my 1st car I purchased and tuned and got to A-Spec 25 with. Sadly, it won't keep up in the extreme events anymore. Time to move on to some adult toys in the garage.

Hard to say with a child, really. He might like the fact that, in replay, it's the only car in the game with a spinning propeller on the back. :)

With mods, it gets up to 90 pretty easily, and drives pretty nicely. The Schwimmwagen is total guesswork -- he could instantly hate it or love it.
