Puma shoes are good 👍. I haven't tried these, but I have another pair (Sky II Demi), and I'm very happy about them. As for gloves, I can't help you much :p.

Sparco Pitlane.

Extremely lightweight and flexible once broken in, almost like a pair of socks with a sole on them. Much more flexible than any Pumas I've worn and especially those posted just above.

I would personally get these (or similar - depends on price), if it was me:

I know what you're saying. I'm saying personally I don't think they're very stylish and look kind of bland, and the BMW shoes look especially cheap and cheesy, but everyone's different.

I'm not sure what the point of this thread is.

I used to wear the Puma Drift Cats and their sole was way too thick. Not to mention not very flexible. I had no pedal feel at all even after wearing them in. My current Adidas sambas are better in this regard. I also used to wear Sparco Pitlanes which are by far the best of driving oriented "leisure" shoes. They're thin and flexible which is great for driving but horrible for every day use as they'll wear quickly. I also had the Sparco Logos but I didn't like those at all. Not only did they not provide any feel but are, frankly, ugly.
Conclusion: If you want an every day shoe then get something that fits your fashion. If you want something for when you go driving that's cheap and also great, then get the Sparco Pitlanes.

As for gloves, I used to have Momo driving gloves which were nice for the price. Now I have Alpine Star Tech-1Zs. They have more grip on my leather wheel and they breathe better too. They also feel more comfortable when you bend your fingers to grip the wheel.

too vulgar for me.

This is for me:

I'm sorry but those are the vulgar looking ones IMO.

As for your question, it definitely depends on the person, just look for some that have te flattest sole possible. As for gloves look for thin and grippy or just thin leather if used in the daily and you don't want the steering wheel to suffer.

Remember, having a car brand on them =/= driving shoes

If you've got small feet then small shoes like the Pumas or Sparcos will be terrible. Perfect Balance has giant feet so its not an issue. Mine are tiny so my Adidas Sambas work best for me.

What kind of price range are we talking? Piloti makes great driving shoes that look nice and are reasonably priced. (Not too different from a good sneaker or hiking shoe.)

Sparco makes great serious racing shoes but the prices are much higher since they're fireproof and all that, and their cheaper models are basically Pumas with a Sparco logo on them. (Literally, they still have the Puma on them and everything.)
