I have currently a X360 Controller, but its only a couple months old, and the thumbsticks are drifting left and right. Tried taking it apart, see if i could clean it etc see if i could fix it.. and nope. Before the X360 Controller i used a DS3, which was fantastic, and i never had an issue, just sometimes the software would just say nope.

But any other suggestions?

Thanks :)

XBox One controller

or

Dualshock 4 and download InputMapper.

Edit: DS4 comes with the benefit of being able to utilize the touchpad for using UI without needing to put the controller down.

What would you recommend the DS4, or X1 Controller?
Both are suppose to be plug-and-play, but I've heard people have had more issues with getting the Xbox One controller to work at times on PC properly. DS4+InputMapper has been flawless for me.

Thanks for the input

Nice pun...

If you're made of money, there's the Xbox One Elite controller due out sometime which adds interchangeable sticks (including long sticks for more precision), an interchangeable D-pad which is apparently quite good for fighting games, dual-mode triggers with a sort of short-stroke 'hair trigger' feature, buttons on the back that work as shortcuts for other buttons (i.e. they don't count as new buttons, just a second set), configurable this, configurable that... For $150.

I personally use a 360 controller because the software I was using for my DS4 started hard crashing my PC, that was DS4 to Xinput Wrapper (or whatever it was called), though. I'm going to try out InputMapper (Thanks @GTPorsche) though. I also have a Play Sega controller:

It's basically a USB Saturn controller, it's good for emulated games and simple things like Rogue Legacy, the d-pad is infinitely better than the one on a 360 pad (but, really, what isn't?) so it's quite nice. If you have, say, the Mega Drive collection on Steam you might find a use for one.

I might of changed my mind. Im getting this! Somehow ill play NFS with it haha

I use the DS4 with DS4 Windows and aside from a few issues with it not using my custom profile for it, I have had no issues with it and a vast improvement over DS3. I'm able to map most buttons for almost every game but some games won't let me map the thumbsticks. Here's some gameplay of it on NFS Most Wanted on the default controls.

Edit: However you may need to adjust the sensitivity of the controller, which can all be done in DS4 Windows itself. Default sensitivity may make the car lean left or right on some racing games.

If you mean DS4 tool it started doing that with me and I fixed it by re installing the driver that came with it.

Thanks, I did buy a DS4, seemed the most reasonable, looked on Sites, Forums and saw that people preferred the DS4 over the X1 Controller. On that note, i did enjoy my DS3 on PC way more then the X360 Controller. Back to Sony Products. Microsoft you disappoint :irked:
