When you buy a car you get the car in that colour and a gift of a paint chip in that colour, if you use the chip or send the chip that does not affect the car in any way 👍

You normally need to retsart game to see a newly added friend 👍

You can actually avoid the restart and the long loading screen.

What you need to do is go back to the main menu, the one where something is going on in the background. Press the PS button, on account managment press triangle and signout. Back at the GT menu click GTLife then you will be asked to sign in to PSN press yes then your FL is uptodate.
