Lost Chrome paint?

So I recently learned of the whole paint trick where you get a special chip every 20 cars, then restart the game until you get the color you want. Well after about 25 restarts I get my silver chrome and go through my garage to see what car to paint, I finally decide I'm going to purchase a new car to paint chrome and when I get into the paint shop my chrome paint is no where to be found.

Is this broken in the new 1.06 update?
Was I NOT supposed to buy a car?
Should I have manually saved after accepting the items?

Just want to know what possibly went wrong.
 
You know that when you choose a paint for painting a car the paint chips are ordered by the date you acquired them, but they're descending instead of ascending.

In the items list the paint chips are ordered the other way around.
 
I went through the list 2x and also sorted by type. Nothing under chrome. Going to try when I get to 140.

FYI it's every 30 cars. I have 2 spare chips I have no use of, if you want them just send me a PSN request and I'll gladly gift them to you.

Will do thanks. It will be from Will02724 I'm assuming you're using SmokingCones? Every 30 thanks would be why I couldn't get it to come again.
