When one clicks on GTP Forums on the top of the page, you are presented with a list of forums and at the bottom of the new page, it tells how many unread messages you have.

It says I have one unread message, but I cant find it anywhere :(

Suggestions?

In your private message dealy check "Sent Items" and "Message Tracking"

Your item will be in one of those most likely.
:)

Thanks for the tip :) , but the lost message unfortunately wasnt one of those :(

Was it a recent message or was it from some time ago? The default on the PM system is to only show messages from the past 90 days. You've got to change that to "from teh beginning" in order to see all the PM messages that have been sent to you.

If it's not that, you may be out of luck. Jordan is the only person who has access to the database and could possibly search and find that lost message.

I have changed the PM to show "from beginning", but it didnt help. Oh well, maybe it is just a glitch - thanks for the suggestions nonetheless :)

I believe it will tell you that you have unread messages in that little tag line there, even after you've read them, until you end that GTP session.

Make sure you aren't looking at an old version of the homepage. Clear your temporary internet files and click refresh on that page just to make sure.

It says since your last visit. Did you read a pm when you logged on?

EDIT: Doh! Nevermind.

Even if i log off i still get :(
Which in that case, you aren't really logged off. Keep trying to log out until you actually do (you'll know when you have as there is a large banner visible at the top of the page). Then log back in again.

Alrighty - will give it a bash and get back to you on it :)

EDIT: No good, it didnt help :(

Are there any messages in your inbox which have been cancelled by the sender? You'll recognize these by their red text and request to delete them.

That is a negative - no red text or requests.

Well, I'm afraid I can't figure out what the problem could be. I still believe it has to do with some sort of caching problem, but there's no way to be sure. Sorry we couldn't get this one, Mike.

Hey, no big deal at all, was just curious about it :)

The curiosity is going to kill you huh Mike?
