Being caught "in a net" with kate........... Id volounteer for that one!

....Back to reality now, Good write up again!

A few questions:

1) Does Eko know about Michael or is he just telling a good story?
Based on my original theory about dreams, it seems that eko is having the dreams. I think eko does know about what micheal did but eko sees it as micheals journey and sees no reason to stop him. As a side note, it would seem that only the "good" people are having dreams so far. Henry said locke was a good person and hes had dreams, Eko was nearly kidnapped by the others which i assume would put him on the "good" list. So maybe the others will have some dreams soon too?

FoolKiller
2) Is the boat someone new, a boat for Michael, or Desmond returning? I think Desmond.

Nobody new will be on that boat however im sure that there is something interesting on it. I think its just coincidence that micheal asked them for a boat and one turns up. I do not think that anybody will be leaving the island but it will be used next episode. What better way is there to sneak up on the others than in a boat and from the sea where the others would never expect it!

FoolKiller
3) Will Sayid's actions cause Michael to lose Walt again or save them all?

4) Are the Others actually more advanced and the whole camp setup a fake? Walt hinted at that with the "they aren't who they say they are" thing.

I dont think so. The camp is obviously a set up but i dont think they are special people at all. They are just losties that got to the island before. In the hatch which the others have found, i assume there is another tape this time telling them to separate the good and bad people etc. They are afraid of what will happen if they dont do this just like our losties are afraid of not pushing the button.

FoolKiller
5) So does Walt have some crazy cool powers?

He is gifted but i dont think he is some type of super hero. Maybe he has some kind of precognition abilitys.

FoolKiller
6) WTF is going on!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

Im starting to think that we will never find this out.

FoolKiller
Previews for next week claim to tell us how the plane went down. I can't wait.

Next week is a two hour season finale.

Cant wait for this!

Also i have just realised that the symbol on the hatch is not on the blast door map we have seen.

vlcsnap660828qo.png

vlcsnap601818xv.png

Now could this mean...

A) the map in the hatch is wrong? (we have seen it lead eko and john to the pearl hatch so it isnt a fake, just not conclusive)

I would say this is the most plausable

B) Could there be more than one island? The others do have a boat and everybody who the others take away is knocked out and taken away as opposed to being just blindfolded which would let you feel the boat rocking up and down etc.

C) the others live on another island, they use this fake hatch as a decoy much like the disguises. And the boat the losties have seen is infact the others boat but it has drifted away?

Thank you.

I can see how Eko would know but let it go as a journey. He also gave Charlie the heroin after burning the plane. He definitely allows people to follow their own path, even if it is a destructive one.

Speaking of good this brings up another question: Why do the Others want the four people that have never seemed to meet the "good" criteria? They have two murders, a near adulterer and part time alcoholic, and a mental patient who at least believes that he has inadvertently killed people. From the other meaning of good they definitely don't fit as Jack, Kate, and Sawyer would fight, violently if necessary, any kind of indoctrination and Hurley's response to any uncomfortable change is always, "No way, man." Are they trying to remove the biggest threats? Then why not take Sayid too or would he pose too much of a challenge with the other four so they need to separate him out?

Nobody new will be on that boat however im sure that there is something interesting on it. I think its just coincidence that micheal asked them for a boat and one turns up. From IMDB:
Season 2, Episode 23: Live Together, Die Alone: Part 1
24 May 2006
Desmond returns and we delve into his own mysterious past. We learn how he came to be on the island and live inside the Hatch, and of a connection he has to another of the survivors.

I definitely think it is Desmond now. He was on a sail boat when he came to the island and he never said it was wrecked or destroyed, he just came ashore. I wonder if Desmond might not have information on the Others due to his actions while he was away. I hope he becomes a main staple of the show because he seems like he could be an interesting character.

I definitely agree that it will be used to come in from behind. It is silent and quick and might even allow Sayid and whomever he takes along to sneak in before Michael gets there with the other four. He could do some preliminary recon and be able to jump in when things get ugly.

SHort bus special, maybe, but I don;t think the Others have powers, I just think they are modern day people posing as people living a tribal lifestyle. We saw them living comfortably in technology with clean and modern clothes in Claire's flashback and we know Zeke's beard is a fake. It is all a facade to hide their true identities but get Michael to help them eliminate the biggest threats in the Losties camp. I doubt they even intend to give him Walt. They probably plan to kill Michael too. After his blood tests they have found that he has no psychic connections to Walt and is therefore useless.

He is gifted but i dont think he is some type of super hero. Maybe he has some kind of precognition abilitys.
I didn't mean super hero powers but rather psychic abilities. The questions that Ms. Clue asks leads me to believe that they suspect Walt of having some sort of abilities that could be beneficial to their goals.

Also i have just realised that the symbol on the hatch is not on the blast door map we have seen.
I don't even know what it is. I thought it might be an 8 or infinity at first but the cross-line in teh middle looks squiggly, so I don't think that's what it is. It could be a completely fake door with nothing but a wall behind it. That would suck.

B) Could there be more than one island? The others do have a boat and everybody who the others take away is knocked out and taken away as opposed to being just blindfolded which would let you feel the boat rocking up and down etc.
Michael is walking the other Losties in so I doubt that is the case. It could just be a hatch that the map's creator was unaware of, or it could just be a poorly translated symbol on the map.

My predictiosn for next week are that Desmond is on the boat, he has an extra gun so it provides an extra gun for Sayid and whoever he takes with him to prevent the trap. Sayid uses Desmond's boat and Desmond goes along in hopes of getting off the island. They also takes Locke and Jin as they are also very adept at the running around and fighting thing. Jin and Sun fight over hsi going but he convinces her it is to protect Jack and the gang, and eventually the rest of the Losties. If Sun is truly pregnant having the doctor kidnapped or killed would be a bad thing.

Eko stays on the computer, which is what allows all the other main characters to disappear for a while.

It is possible that Bernard may want to go along too as he will hope to find the source of Rose's cure.

As for what brought the plane down....heck if I know.

Awesome write-up. I would give you some rep points, but it looks like i've reached my quota for you :p

Really, really looking forward to next week's episode. Sounds awesome and they can cover so much detail in 2 hours that you know a whole load of info will be revealed.

My biggest fear is that they're gonna leave the whole thing majorly hanging at the end of the season with a load of questions still unanswered. Whilst this is good for them, i don't think i can wait until season 3 starts showing!

I really want to know where Locke went at the end of the show. Right now he seems pretty convinced that this whole thing is a scam and unreal but how do you explain his legs becoming functional again after the crash?

Walt said the Others are making him take tests and they "aren't who they say they are". I think this means they are really the scientists and guarding the main facility where the suction tubes go?WHO KEEPS DROPPING THE CRATES OF FOOD? This MUST mean someone is watching.

Im a little rusty on season one but have the 5 people Michael has to bring back to The Others ALL seen some sort of hallucination on the island? I know Jack, Hurley and Sawyer have but Im not positive on the other two. Is this why only these 5 have to meet?

Also, that hatch MAY be on the map, notice that there is one "hatch" drawing near the top that is scribbled out. Could this be The Others Hatch?

Or some really long commercial breaks. Although this week's episode was 45 minutes of show instead of the usual 40 minutes because they had a special sponsor that allowed limited commercials.

At least it didn't end like Invasion: Leave big questions and then cancel it. Thanks guys!

I never watched that show because it looked too strange but I dont think they are canceling it. I believe ABC is moving it to a sister station.

You watch Lost but Invasion is too strange? I heard about it possibly being picked up by the new CW network, but that talk has died down since CW is picking up 7th Heaven now.

Of course, I guess both could be worse. Surface had the entire eastern seaboard under 30 feet of water and the main characters stuck on a roof top when it got cancelled.

Thank God Lost is going strong because any type of cliffhanger on Lost would possibly cause a riot.

Did ABC keep a single one of their new shows this season?

Just a reminder to everyone:

Lost season finale is on tonight at 9:00 ET on ABC. It is a two hour episode, so if you tape it adjust accordingly.

At 8:00 they are showing the Reckoning episode. That is the "catch up" episoide they aired about a month ago.

Just letting everyone know.

Oh, and since this is a two-hour episoide the write up will take a while to get finished. If I haven't made decent headway before the LostPedia write-up is done I will link to that as a fill in until I get mine finished with my thoughts. I am going to try and see X-Men and I am going out of town this weekend I can't guarantee anything before Monday. That's not to say I won't try though.

Anyone who doesn't get Lost on the American schedule but reads my write-ups can watch the episodes streaming at ABC's Web site.

I'm afraid we can't; ABC only allows USA internizzle users to view them. Will just have to download it again. Considering the double episode size, will be lucky to get it by the weekend :( Going away Saturday too! D'oh, really want to see this asap 👍

OK, now that's just insane. I hope they catch everyone up over the summer so that they will be good to go all at once in the fall. I doubt it though. That would make too much sense.

Have you tried using a proxy server? That's what I do.

Also, does anyone know how soon the episodes go up on the abc website? I usually watch the day after but I really can't wait to see the last episode so I want to watch it as soon as its up.

Sorry if this post is against the rules, wasn't sure.

I 6thionk the only way this would be against the rules is if you are talking about an illegal download but ABC has practically gone out of their way to allow most anyone to get free copies, so I don't see how any free service can be considered illegal. The only place to pay for episodes that I am aware of is iTunes. Itis probably the best quality version around.

As for when ABC airs them; it appears to be up now.

EDIT: At this link:

http://dynamic.abc.go.com/streaming/landing

Or you can buy it for a download to your PC here:

I would recommend the streaming since it is a good quality, and free.

Ill wait to post my comments after the summary....but I thought the final episode(s) were pretty good.

Will season 3 be the final seasonbased on the end of this season?

That will be a long time coming...twice as much to write.

The plan is for six seasons to tell the story, but the story will be adapted based on renewal and popularity.

OK, since this was a double episode and I am leaving town in the morning and seeing X-Men Monday I am not going to get the write-up done anytime soon.

So, with that in mind I will link you to a write-up page from the LostPedia that also has a ton more info than I could ever hope to give on one episode.

If you all feel it is still needed, after reading this page, then I will do the write-up, but if you think you won't bother reading it then let me know so I can save some time.

That's not to say I don't enjoy doing the write-up and I might still do it just because, even if you guys tell me not to. I actually feel bad not getting it done before the weekend.

Anyway, here is the link:

Saw the season finale yesterday and loved it. They introduced some cool stuff and the listening station thing at the end was really nifty.

Are we going to see Mike and Walt again? Are they ever going to get "rescued" as 'Henry' said they would if they travelled east (or whichever dir. i forgot :p)?

Well looking forward to S3 now, but how long are we going to have to wait?!

September sweeps is when the news season begins. Start twiddling your thumbs.

I am filling the time with drinking and movies. That is I get drunk with my friends at a bar next to the movie theater and then go see a movie while sobering up before driving home.

Other time has been devoted to video gaming. Currently I am addicted to Roller Coaster Tycoon 3.

My wife did mention something about the yard too. Guess I have to mow at some point.

See, if Lost were on I wouldn't have time for all this other stuff.

[QUOTEEl Gigante]Don't know about you, but it looked to me like Henry was their leader, in the way he acted etc.[/QUOTE]
I agree. That was at least the image they wanted to project. There could be more to it.

I have noticed that the one picture we have of Alvar Hanso is very grainy and the person used for the picture is the guy that played The Smoking Man in X-Files. However, when his facial profile is compared to Henry I think (just me speculating) that Henry looks like a younger version. Also, if you play The Lost Experience game that they have going online eth secret sections of the Web site reveal that he hasn't been seen in public since 2002.

Since Hanso does many life extension and genetic projects I wonder if Henry isn't Alvar Hanso after being made younger in ssome way, or possibly a clone of some sort.

And that is my way-out-there speculation of the day.

DAMN! I was right about the hatch being a fake! I thought it was a little odd that the hatch wasnt on the blast door map.

Was a pretty good ending though. Enough conclusion but still alot to speculate about. We now know that the losties are on the island by chance due to the "system faliure" but so much stuff seems coincidental. Like locke being able to walk, jin and sun having a baby and that lady with the cancer being cured. The island definately has healing abilities. Henry seems to be the leader of the others and i would guess him being of very high power seeing as the others took the effort to rescue him and Henrys decision to actually let Walt and Micheal go. Or maybe he directed them to another island?

Well i for one cant wait for Lost S3, Only 3 and a half months to go!

What if those abilities were tied to the electromagnetic experiment? What if the 108 minute discharge was the reason for that and the source of the island's "energies."

So it may be the hot and humid days of summer here in states but my sunflowers are tall and my beans are producing. I am keeping the yard mowed and the herb garden is beautiful. I even got my sunflower entry form for the Kentuclky State Fair mailed in but none of that has stopped me from watching (or listening in this case) for Lost news.

http://www.cinematical.com/2006/07/05/lost-the-movie/

Co-creator Damon Lindelof says that he hopes to do five seasons of Lost (three more) and then a movie. He fears the studio will want to drag it out and make it longer (don't they already do that?) and a movie would prevent that.

Sounds cool and I know that I can expect a certain amount of show before it either ends or gets bad.

Well i found out something last night which is interesting, i dont remember seeing it mentioned on here so forgive me if its a repost.

Well when "the smoke" faces eko when charlie is up in the tree. as the camera goes through the smoke and you see the lightining there are actually single frame images from what i assume is ekos life. There is a image of his mother, a lover, brother and a stature of jesus.

Possibly a hint at the "Smokes" abilities. We can either assume that these are images from ekos past or they are pregognative images. I am starting to sway towards pregognitive images as the smoke could be what the others needed walt for. If they used the smoke to read walts mind and determine a series of events that would happen in the future then they would not need walt anymore. this would explain why the others did not seem so bothered about letting walt go or maybe they know that micheal and walt cannot escape from the island? Remember desmond tried to sail away but ended up back where he started. This cannot be down his inability to sail a boat because desmond was sailing around the world before he became trapped on the island.

Well thats all i can come up with for now. i might watch season 2 again just to see if i missed anything.

Does anybody know when Season 3 will start?

Yes, it was all scenes from the flashback, so it was easily recognizable as glimpses into his past/memory.

I figure it might have something to do with why things from people's pasts might suddenly seem to appear on the island, such as Jack's dad, Kate's horse, Hurley's imaginary friend, etc.

this would explain why the others did not seem so bothered about letting walt go or maybe they know that micheal and walt cannot escape from the island? Remember desmond tried to sail away but ended up back where he started. This cannot be down his inability to sail a boat because desmond was sailing around the world before he became trapped on the island.
Walt's abilities have something to do with why he was taken, but I hadn't though about them using the smoke to read him. That's an interesting theory.

As for them getting off the island the woman told Michael to sail toward a specific heading and they would be rescued. This makes me think that there is something that hides the island and keeps thinsg from going in and out without hitting just the right spot. Sydney is probably just outside this shield.

If you remember Desmond said that he sailed out but kept coming back to teh island. This makes me think that it works like an ant in a glass ball. It walks on but is really just going in circles. Unless the ant finds the one tiny hole by accident it will never get out. This might also be why the raft wound up right back on the island, it just came back around.

Does anybody know when Season 3 will start?

Sometime in September for the US. Nothing has been officially announced yet.

Here are some spoilers for Season 3.

http://www.spoilerfix.com/lost.php

I have new news for Lost. From MSNBC reporting on a press conference with the ABC Entertainment president Stephen McPherson:

“Losties” want any and all scoop about their favorite show, and are always conscious of the show’s flow being interrupted by reruns and other breaks. “Lost” is going to run this year in two uninterrupted blocks — six weeks in October, then a 13 week break, then “Lost” will return in the spring of 2007 to finish out the season uninterrupted. (New Taye Diggs’ show “Day Break” will fill in the gaps.)

That sounded weird to a lot of folks, but McPherson later defended it, saying his other choice was to run the entire season of “Lost” in one giant 22-week block, with new shows every week. That may sound great, but it would mean that the show wouldn’t start airing until March — so there’d have been no new “Lost” episodes from the finale last May until January 2007. ABC wasn’t willing to let their billion-dollar baby sit on the shelf that long.

And because the show takes so long to shoot, McPherson said he couldn’t run all the episodes starting in fall and ending earlier (as if they’d miss May sweeps, anyway). The January return of “Lost” means it will go right up against the juggernaut that is “American Idol,” but McPherson’s not worried, saying “when there are two good shows in a time period, they can both do business.”

So, six weeks in October? I assume this means the show will start September 20th and run until the end of October and then 13 weeks off would mean it comes back January 31st. Or it could mean October 4th is the first show until November 8th and then pick back up on February 14th. I think it is the second because that would cover all five Wednesdays in May for May sweeps.

I think I preferred the old way. Of course, I would most like to see one huge block. I could wait until January. The Web site has a poll on it for what you think.

Also for other rumors and stuff check out http://spoilerfix.com/lost.php I'll warn you though, it has spoilers, hence the name.

EDIT: Yep, it's confirmed. October 4th is the season premiere.

I know a lot of people were saying that due to the rerun heavy flow of the show they preferred to wait for the DVDs. I just thought I would announce that Season 2 is now available today. Well, it is in the US at least. I don't know how long it takes the DVDs to reach the UK and Australia.

Oh and there are all kinds of Season 3 spooilers here:

yea we still want the write ups. I always looked forward to seeing your take on each episode then i would write my own comparing them with yours. Helps us all make some sense out of this program!

If you want to change the thread title, just go to the first thread and edit it. It should show the title of the thread which you can then modify. I would suggest putting the page number in the title whichthe season 3 discussions start on though.

Looking forward to the write up's and another season of confusion!

I try my best. I am going to buy the DVDs this week or next week so I will have them for comparison when Season 3 starts. This first block of six episodes is supposed to finish up the hanging storylines from Season 2 so I think they might come in handy.

I would suggest putting the page number in the title whichthe season 3 discussions start on though.
Good idea, I'll do something like that. Probably post number since some people have posts per page setup differently.

Looking forward to the write up's and another season of confusion!
So am I.
