Ok cheers :)

Having a read on ABC suggest that Sawyer chose Zeke because of the Luger that he was holding.

A couple of other interesting questions came up:

"Call me crazy, but I still think Zeke might be the real Sawyer. He would probably be a few years older than James Ford."

And..

"Who did Jack's wife leave him for?"

Votes on Desmond seem strong so far  Interesting idea though. Everyone does seem to be strongly connected on the Island.

I can only read the ABC boards for a little bit at a time or I get a headache. Just the fact that I still hear the purgatory theory brought up kills me.

I think that some people are trying too hard for connections. Most of teh connections that we have seen so far have been passing by each other like Jack in the background when Shannon went to see her dead father in the hospital or Hurley on the television when Jin delivered a message for Sun's father. There have yet to be any strong connections aside from Jack and Desmond, which was pushing cheesy, anything more than that without explanation and it will be getting too cheesy.

However I could possibly buy Jack's wife cheating with Desmond, but the timing might be off a bit. Jack looked the same as he does now and Desmond was supposedly on the island for three years. It is possible but it seems unlikely.

As for the Zeke being Sawyer; I don't see a peacenik grad student running a grift. But then again, that's me. Maybe they were desperate for funding early on. I just don't see it though.

(SPOILER ALERT!)

Here we go, episode 12: Fire + Water

This is a Charlie-based episode.

Flashback first:

We start out and see a very young Charlie coming downstairs on Christmas morning to find his older brother, Liam, opening presents. When he looks at the gifts he realizes that none of them have his name on them. During this we hear Liam say, "Voltron! Cool!" 👍

Charlie's mother comes downstairs and tells him to come to the other side of the room where a giant present is waiting. When they uncover it Charlie finds he has been given a piano. His mother encourages him to play and become famous so that he can save them all. Liam, now older as we saw in Season 1, also encourages him to play and save them all. Going back to Charlie he is also older, present day old. Now both Liam and their mother are telling him to play and save them, but it is interrupted by a gruff voice saying he won't save anything and we see a butcher cutting meat from the chest down, presumably Charlie's father.

Later we see Charlie in a hospital looking into the nursery at a newborn baby. A woman comes up and says hi. Charlie says she shouldn't be up, she just had a baby, but she says that she just had to see her again. Charlie refers to her as Karen and she tells him that the baby has been named Megan, which we later learn is his mother's name.

Then Karen asks about Liam and Charlie makes an excuse that he missed his plane and is on the way. Karen appears to be skeptical but believes Charlie.

Then we see Charlie entering a flat to find a cigarette burning on the counter and Liam passed out with a belt still around his arm from a heroin injection. Charlie checks the bag and Liam tells him that he left some. Charlie explains that he had to lie for him and he needed to get cleaned up and go see his new daughter.

Nest we see all the members of Driveshaft sitting in robes on a film set where we see them trying to make a commercial dressed in diapers and dancing around in a giant play pen. Liam botches the commercial and ends up getting the whole band fired.

Later we see Charlie sitting at his piano in the flat, the same piano his mother gave him, working on a song when Liam comes in looking messed up. Charlie goes to see what is wrong and Liam explains that Karen kicked him out because he dropped Megan and she thinks that he is a danger. Liam is upset now because he has no family or money and his life is falling apart. Charlie tells him that they will get through this and he has just written a new song. He plays it for Liam and Liam appears to be interested but when Charlie finishes he just asks for more drugs.
In the final flashback we see Charlie come home to find his piano is missing. Soon after Liam walks in and explains that he sold it so that he could have money to take his family to Sydney where he has a job lined up and plans to enter a rehab clinic. Charlie is freaking out and telling him that he can help him and get the band together and things will be like old times. He is desperately trying to save his brother every step of the way while sacrificing his own life. Liam says that he has to go and leaves him.

Main storyline:

Charlie is having dreams about Aaron being in danger. In the first one he thinks that Aaron is trapped in his piano and being sucked out to sea. He wakes up and rushes to check on Claire and the baby.

In the second dream Charlie imagines that Aaron is floating out to sea in his crib and Charlie swims out to save him. While trying to comfort him on shore he sees his mother in and Claire dressed as angels telling him that he must save Aaron and a dove drops out of the sky trailing black smoke. Then Hurley dressed like a prophet comes out of the jungle yelling at Charlie. At this point Charlie wakes up to find himself holding Aaron and Hurley asking what he is doing with the baby in the middle of the night. We then hear Claire screaming for Aaron. When she finds Charlie she slaps him. No one believes that Charlie was sleepwalking.

Charlie goes to Locke to try and get him to understand his dreams and what is going on but Locke only tells him that he suspects Charlie is using again. Charlie goes on a rampage about people seeing horses and Walt but when Charlie sees something it must be the drugs (Good point, I thought). He never answers Locke's question and Locke refuses to help him.

Charlie the goes to Eko who is marking trees with small Xs ( I have no clue). Eko says that maybe the dreams mean something and that maybe Charlie is supposed to save Aaron. From this Charlie repeatedly tries to get to Claire, who is constantly surrounded by either Locke or Kate, to convince her to have Eko baptize Aaron.

Charlie is completely freaked out at this point and goes to his stash of statues. There are still six statues until Charlie breaks one open. He has yet to use any. As he stands there looking at the heroin Locke comes walking towards him and lectures him on how disappointed he is. He then tells Charlie that he isn't giving him a chance to make a mistake this time around and takes the statues with him. Charlie tries to get Locke to listen to him but Locke informs him that his chance at redemption and being believed is now gone.

Charlie, out of desperation, starts a fire in the jungle that is heading towards camp. While everyone is working to put the fire out Charlie sneaks into camp and takes Aaron, but Claire sees him at the last minute. She begins chasing Charlie and screaming for help. Everyone catches up to Charlie as he tries explaining that Aaron needs to be baptized and that Eko is a priest who will do it. Locke attempts to intervene and Charlie tells him to stay away because it isn't his family and he isn't Aaron's father. "Neither are you," is all Locke says in response.

Charlie backs down and hands Aaron over. He appears beaten by realization. Charlie needed something to care for and when Claire told him to stay away he felt the same pain that he felt when Liam left him. Then just as his emotions were beating him up Locke decides to do it physically with two full roundhouse punches and an uppercut Charlie goes down bleeding.

The next morning Charlie is sitting alone on the beach when Jack comes to him. (Odd that Jack always comes to the isolated unless it is someone he isolates, like Kate) Jack looks at Charlie's cut and gives him stitches. While doing this Jack tells him that he needs to know that Charlie won't do anything like this again. Charlie promises and admits to starting the fire but then says that he isn't using, he wanted to, but he didn't use any drugs. Jack appears to believe him, possibly because as a doctor he knew the signs before and can tell a heroin addict by sight.

Finally, we see Locke changing the combination on the gun vault and then placing the statues on a shelf inside. :odd: We also see Claire letting Eko have Aaron and herself baptized. Eko's description of Baptism was so far off from anything Catholic or Protestant that it hurt. I don't know whether that was on purpose or not.

Sideline stories:

Hurley asks Sawyer about Libby and Sawyer gets him to talk to her. Sawyer's nickname usage for this episode was to call Hurley Jabba. Hurley helps Libby do laundry by showing her the laundry machines in the hatch, which Libby quickly notices are much newer than everything else. (They appear to be a type that has only become popular in the past three years or so.) While talking Hurley asks Libby if he knows her from somewhere. Libby hesitates and then tells him some story about him stepping on her foot on the plane. This seems odd. Then as if throw him more she asks what he would think if she wore a top. The desired effect is had as Hurley goes blank. So, she makes him turn around so she can try it on. She looks good, I must say. Hurley's only response is awesome.

Jack and Ana-Lucia have a small relationship going on that Sawyer quickly points out to Kate because he has seen them coming out of the woods three times. Kate acts tough, but the look on her face seems hurt.

We see Jack helping Ana-Lucia set up a tent in the jungle and Ana-Lucia asks Jack what happened in the jungle to make them come back and he tells her about Kate getting captured. Ana quickly follows up by asking Jack if he hit that. Jack gets embarrassed.

Okay, I didn't like this episode as much as the last two but it was definitely good. I just want more of the main plot.

Questions raised:
1) Why is Eko marking trees?
2) Can we trust Libby?
3) Is Charlie going slightly crazy with his shooting Ethan and now starting a fire and kidnapping a child?
4) Is Locke about to snap? He has never exhibited violence towards another human until now.
5) Are the survivors about to split into two factions caused by events such as these? Sawyer made a Lord of the Flies reference in Season 1.
6) Why is Locke keeping the heroin? Does it have a medicinal purpose?
7) Why is Locke keeping Charlie's secret from Claire if he feels that Charlie has out used his trust?
8) WTF is going on?

Here is an update from http://www.spoilerfix.com
spoilerfix.com
01/25 - Co-creator/Executive producer Damon Lindelof reveals (note that this is a summary of the spoilerish things he revealed): The lines in the Dharma logo are not insignificant at ALL... but don't have anything to do with numbers. Perhaps if you were to break them down to their simplest elements, you'd find the significance. And more bunkers/symbols? Candle DID say there were more stations. And I'm not even sure the 'arrow' is an official station... looked more like a storage locker to me. If I had to guess, I'd think there'd be SEVERAL arrows scattered across the island, but they're probably just bunkers. [...] There are indeed other people on the island. But did Ethan KNOW Goodwin? Do they all live in the same place? How many of them are there? Source: The Official Lost Magazine, Issue 3, March/April 2006
01/25 - Writer/Supervising producer Javier Grillo-Marxuach reveals (note that this is a summary of the spoilerish things he revealed): Eko facing off against the 'monster' is a big deal in terms of the series because he's the only person - next to Locke - who has seen the 'monster' and has lived to tell the tale! Only with Eko, it was a different kind of encounter. That is something that the fans can expect to see bear fruit in future episodes. It's a hugely important thing, but won't necessarily be revealed immediately. [...] What you're going to see with Eko is that he has his own destiny on the island, and of all the characters, he has the most direct connection to the island because of the Nigerian drug plane. That's going to pay off in different ways. It's not going to mean necessarily that we wind up giving you the history of the 'monster' as a result of its interaction with Eko, but it sends Eko in a direction where he has a destiny to fulfil on the island that's gonna pay off. [...] What happens in episode #11 with Mr. Friendly showing up again, making himself seen and making his laws of the island very clear to the characters, will ripple throughout the rest of the season in a very meaningful way. [...] You're going to begin to see a lot more of the Others, and see a lot more of what they're about and what they're doing. Source: The Official Lost Magazine, Issue 3, March/April 2006
01/25 - Q. Is it possible that Lost's Libby is not a doctor, but a ********** ****? Ausiello: That's what I'm hearing, yes. Source: Ask Ausiello @ TV Guide [Note: We do not know for sure what was *** out, but most LOST fans believe it's "compulsive liar."]

What do you guys think?

I feel like this was another "setup" episode, almost like they've put all the items in place for one helluvan episode. We're being left with a lot of questions after this one..

The two main things that I've been left to wonder about after this episode are: Libby and Aaron. I'd really like to know if there is anything deeper going on with Libby. It was only a small detail, but who knows, might turn into something big.

And what link does Aaron have to the island? After all, Aaron is the whole reason that Shannon was on that plane and now we're getting this.

If all the signs are correct then next week's episode is going to be extremely interesting!

Apclps
And what link does Aaron have to the island? After all, Aaron is the whole reason that Shannon was on that plane and now we're getting this.

Claire?

Sounds like a really boring episode. Charlie is a pretty poor character, i haven't enjoyed any part he's played in the story so far except for when him and Claire were friendly. And yes it does sound like he's getting messed up too.

Did surprise me that Locke hit Charlie, esp. more than just once. Maybe Charlie is interfering with Locke's path to enlightenment? Plus Locke has always acted like a father-like figure to Aaron perhaps he was just genuinly upset. May Locke is Aaron's father?.. hmm

Libby is an interesting one. No reason to suspect that there is anything wrong with her imo, 'compulsive liar' is quite possible.

Locke probably kept the heroin in case it was useful in future. As you said, medicinal purposes. Well and we know that Locke likes to drug people too (Boone with his visions of Shannon's death). Never know when having someone off their tits on heroin comes in handy.

r.e. Eko + trees - perhaps he's marking the stronger trees. Or maybe he's marking the trees near to them so that when the monster comes and uproots them he will see which ones were gone -> loooong shot.

How come we've never seen any of these uprooted/knocked down trees? We've seen at least on 3 occasions the monster ripping the out of the ground, where've they gone. Has the monster actually be uprooting trees? Or does it just look like a line of trees getting knocked down when it moves through the jungle?

Yeah, I think it is a setup episode, but man that can be boring. It is even worse when next week is a repeat of Numbers from Season 1 and then we will hopefully have a connection after that. A setup with a hiatus can be a stretch. I've heard rumored that the next new episode will be a double episode to make up for the rerun. They are doing that with Invasion also.

I don't know about Libby yet and I am extremely curious. I know there is a future episode that is tentatively called "One of Them." That could mean a couple of things but it leads me to think about a possible spy, especially since the preview for the next episode showed Sun being kidnapped. Who pointed her out?

I hope that whatever Aaron's purpose is comes out soon. They seem to be trying this religious metaphor with him and it makes me wonder if they aren't going to make him some kind of saviour figure, as in his sacrifice will save them all.

A theory I heard about Eko marking the trees was that it could be for a permanent structure. He might be marking the ones that would make either good supports or be good for lumber. A Nigerian would be more likely to know how to do that sort of thing since they don't have a Home Depot just down the road.

With the trees and the monster; I don't know. I know that on my Season 1 DVDs they said they showed the trees by filming separate small trees being destroyed and shaken in a studio and then superimposing them into the jungle. Hawaii's forests are all protected, so showing the destroyed trees might just be beyond their production control.

When you see the trees explode it has a very blurry, almost smokey, look to it. I wonder if it isn't just supposed to be an effect created by teh monster and nothing is truly destroyed. Maybe it is jumping in and out of the ground, throwing dirt, and making it appear that the trees are being torn up, but we never stay focused on the same spot long enough to see the dirt clear. Or we haven't seen all there is to see yet and there is a lot more to it. Who knows?

EDIT: As for the tentative title for the future episode; I have also seen script pages signed by the writers that have a cloned Jack and a zombie Walt. They are creating false trails, just like Ethan did, to hide the true plot. Nothing is better than speculation and rumors until we see it on TV.

"cloned Jack and a zombie Walt"

Weird. Although isn't the Dharma thing supposed to be about cloning anyway, so that's not all that surprising.

"cloned Jack and a zombie Walt"

Weird. Although isn't the Dharma thing supposed to be about cloning anyway, so that's not all that surprising.
But the part where we were supposed to see that is past. The cloned Jack was supposed to be episode 2.03 and the zombie Walt was supposed to be episode 2.06.

To see what I am talking about go to http://www.oceanicflight815.com/ and then click on the bar code at the bottom of the screen. A box will come up and if you type in "theislandiswaiting" (no quotes and no spaces) it will bring up a "script page." Over the summer it was about Jack just getting into the hatch and getting chased out by someone who eventually tackles him in the jungle. When he rolls over he is staring up into his own face. After it was supposed to have happened, but didn't, the page changed to the zombie Walt page, which is still up. There is even a funny note pointing toward the word zombie that says, "Cliche? Couldn't we use another word here? How about life-challenged?"

Javier Grillo-Marxuach's name appears on the pages and I have seen him reference them in interviews, so I know they were put there on purpose. The page does have the Terms of Use Policy from Disney, so it is an official Lost page, just not an actual script page.

Lost might be taking the week off but I am not.

I record all the episodes on my Sony Vaio using their GigaPocket software with the TV Tuner card that came with my PC. Last night I was editing out commercials on episodes 11 and 12 to place them on DVD and ran across the scene in episode 11 with Charlie and Hurley sitting in the hatch going through the records. When they mentioned the Geronimo Jackson album I decided one more Google search was in order and I was rewarded.

My Google results turned up two great finds; a recently hosted Geronimo Jackson website and the LostPedia site. Seems like Jordan isn't running the only huge Wiki fan site. They are having troubles with occasional vandalism as well.

The LostPedia discusses the Geronimo Jackson website, http://www.geronimo-jackson.com and explains that it was registerd on January 19th but there are no visible ties to ABC or Disney because it is just a static, one-page site. It needs no terms of use page. They also have a link to a guy's website who claims to have a copy of the record. I will watch to see if he shows pictures as promised.

Another possible clue to note is that the Geronimo Jackson website says they formed together at the University of Michigan. For those paying attention, or completely obsessed like me, you will remember that the Orientation Video tells us that the DeGroots, the scientists that created Dharma and are possibly The Others, were at the University of Michigan at the time the band was formed.

The connections look suspicious but writers Carlton Cuse and Damon Lindelof said, in a Lost Podcast, that music from the 1970s band Geronimo Jackson will be appearing on the show. Perhaps they are a real band? Or perhaps it is another false path?

Finally, when viewing the source code for the Geronimo Jackson website you will find the meta keywords used in a search are very suspicious. They read: geronimo jackson, locke and key records, macna carta, magna carta, not just a number, other man, on my own feet again, down in a hole, smoke and mirrors, other side of the tracks, born again.

Now for them again with my comments in blue and suspicious words in red: geronimo jackson, locke(Obvious) and key (Jack?) records, macna carta (This is the supposed album name), magna carta, not just a number, other man (an anagram for Ethan Rom), on my own feet again (Locke?), down in a hole (Hatch?), smoke and mirrors (Monster?), other side of the tracks (island?), born again (Second Chance/Salvation themes?).

What do you guys think?

Here are the new site links:

Geronimo Jackson - I will keep a watch on this one.
LostPedia - a wealth of information.

I will add these to the first post as well.

If you all find any other sites with info or that are good for clips, images, and rumors post them. I will keep a growing list in the first post so that it is all easily accesible.

NO LOST TONIGHT!?! :guilty:

That's good searchin' 👍 Love your guesses at the keywords  I'd love to know if they are actually what you think they are. "other side of the tracks" - tailies?

Seems a tad far fetched that a random band could be linked so inexorably, but no one has heard of them on the Island so far and (i think i remember) Charlie was surprised he didn't know them.

From geronimo-jackson.com: "Our first album "Macna Carta" was released by a tiny independent label; so if you haven' heard of us, it's okay!"

Hmmm... how convenient. Equally convenient and suspect is how their photo is rubbish. Wouldn't they have a better one somewhere? Esp. considering that one was taken at a photo shoot.

Also suspect is how well made the website is considering it looks like a pile of poo. IMO it's been created by someone professional who tried to make it look rubbish, but the coding is too clean to match the actually design.

Performing a simple WHOIS search on geronimo-jackson.com brought some great results:

The actual servers are http://ns1.raind0g.com/ and http://ns2.raind0g.com/ which if you type into your browser takes you... wait for it... the same server that www.thetailsection.com is based on which is... wait for it... a Lost fansite :D

So have both sites been created by ABC or have both sites been created by a fan?

Well raind0g.com itself (and therefore both servers) looks like it was registered by the same company as thetailsection.com and GJ.com. So either this fan is rich or it is ABC. My vote - ABC.

Let me rephrase, Lost is a rerun tonight. According to http://abc.go.com/primetime/lost/ we are going to be watching a rerun of Numbers, which is the Hurley episode from Season 1 where he hunts down Danielle.

Good catch on the WHOIS. I was trying to edit video and read websites at the same time last night and completely forgot to do that.

If I recall http://www.thetailsection.com launched at the beginning of this season and was up within days of the first episode. I have never been there yet, but looking at it I would be amazed if an average fan built that site in their free time. They have the same quality as GTP and they did it in a few months. Building that site would have taken someone with nothing else to do or doing it as a job.

My guess is it is run by ABC or at least one of the producers (the rich guys who front the cash) who hired a webmaster. They might even have a contractual agreement to legally create the Lost sites for the show.

If it is ABC they might have taken this route because too many people were easily linking ABC to the official sites. Considering GJ.com is a site for an international law firm that does handle telecommunications law I wonder if they represent ABC/Disney and are being used to mask the website owner's identity?

Tricky tricky tricky.

I went to geronimo-jackson, poked around for a while, changed .jpg file names for a while and finally got bored. All I found was they have a geronimo.gif instead of geronimo.jpg.

Then I went over to geronimojackson.com. Scroll all the way down to the bottom and you'll find:

But if you are lost like Geronimo Jackson and looking for something in particular - a subject matter you don't see, or a certain image on a different item - just contact us

I wasn't aware of that until a few minutes ago. :grumpy: 👎 I need my fix!!!

Should have waited for the DVD set like we do with 24, but since we finished the first season just as the second was starting, "unbearable" would be a gross understatement of how we felt trying not to watch it.

Oh well... back to our 24 season 4 DVDs :D (at the moment, we're right after we finally get spared of Mia (the daughter) - thank god, that was becoming very annoying and silly.)

That is classic. Nice to see that someone is making money off my obsessions.

Yeah, I feel the same, but I hope they are reminding us of something. It was just a rerun but I still sat there and watched it.

Hey, Lost Addicts!

I know some of you aren't in the states so I don't know if you have the option or interest to watch the Super Bowl. I'm sure it is common knowledge (and probably a joke) that we get as excited about the commercials as the game. Well, one Super Bowl ad that no one has mentioned because it was done by ABC, who aired the Super Bowl, and thus didn't cost the $2.5 million for a time slot and isn't considered an actual Super Bowl ad, was a new Lost advertisement.

The premise behind the ad was an edit to the video for the Robert Palmer song "Addicted to Love." The song was changed to say "Addicted to Lost" and clips fitting to the lyrics were editted in. They also had the orientation video and computer screen replaced with the Robert Palmer video as well as the song playing over the radio.

Yesterday I went to the Lost website to see if they had a video since it wasn't listed with any Super Bowl ad sites. They had it and even had a three minute version with the entire song.

So, I just thought I would point it out and give everyone the link in order to prepare us all for a new episode tomorrow evening.

http://abc.go.com/fsp/index.html?channel=Lost
Enjoy! It has the full and short versions as well as other ads and clips from the show.

You might as well face it, your addicted to Lost.

(SPOILER ALERT)

Episode 13 – "The Long Con"

This is a Sawyer-central episode.

FLASHBACK:

Same scene, new woman; Sawyer is trying to run his con again by seducing the women (its own payoff) and then "rush" off to a meeting only to have the briefcase fall open and money falls out. This is where the plan goes awry. The woman begins to laugh at him and ask if he really expected her to fall for that, besides she didn't get any money from her divorce. Sawyer gets ready to leave when the woman, Cassidy, stops him. She wants him to teach her how to con.

Later we see Sawyer showing Cassidy about conning. He shows her how to sell junk necklaces for hundreds of dollars and many other small quick cash schemes. Eventually she grows tired and tells him that she wants to learn how to do a long job, or a long con, as her corrects her terminology. He tells her they need money for a long con and she says that she has money. She did get money from her divorce, $600,000. Sawyer recommends they just retire to an island somewhere but Cassidy wants to do a long con and then they can go to an island. During all of this we can see that they have become very close to one another.

Later we see Sawyer meet up with a man named Gordie. Gordie appears to have been, or is, Sawyer's mentor in the grifting game but now he is a boss/partner. He wants to know if Sawyer has gotten the money yet. Sawyer says he almost has it, all $600,000. He knew all along. Gordie see something and accuses Sawyer of getting to close and falling for her. Sawyer admits to it and says that he doesn't want to take her money, but Gordie says he better because he has been waiting six months. Sawyer has a choice, money or death.

Sawyer rushes into the house where Cassidy is and tells her that they have to go. He points to a black car outside and says that his old boss is out there waiting for him. He has to give him her money or he will kill them both. Cassidy, at realizing she was the long con, gets angry with Sawyer but he holds her and explains that the reason why their lives are in danger is because he wouldn’t give up the money because he fell for her. Cassidy calms down and begins to listen as Sawyer throws the money in a duffle bag and gives her instructions to meet him at a hotel in Sioux City. He hands her the duffle bag and pushes her out the door telling her to hurry and he will meet her in the morning. Then he tells her he loves her and she tells him that she loves him.

Sawyer then walks back out to the black car parked out front and gets in the passenger seat. Slowly he looks over to the driver's seat and it is empty. The car never had Gordie in it. Sawyer counts down five seconds before we see him back inside the house pulling out a chair at the table with a duffle bag in it. He opens it and it has all the money. He conned Cassidy one last time.

Before Sawyer leaves he picks up a picture of the two of them looking happy together and then lays it face down. He walks out with the money.

ON THE ISLAND:

Locke and Jack are working together to make sure all the guns on the island are safe. Jack is bringing his case of handguns to the vault. He notices the statues and Locke explains that he took them from Charlie, they were his stash. Jack asks why he didn't just destroy them and Locke asks if he wants to destroy the Virgin Mary. Jack just kind of shakes his head.

Jack asks Locke for the combination because he thinks they both need to have it and Locke gives it to him on the condition that they consult each other before ever opening the vault. Then Locke suggests that Jack might want to put all the medicine in there too because of people like Sawyer, hinting to something he knows.

Next we see Sawyer looking like he is coming out of the ocean and Charlie building a tent on the beach. Sawyer harasses Charlie for being the most hated guy on the island and compliments him on doing things that he hadn't even thought of himself, like kidnapping Claire's baby and trying to drown it. He even got Locke to hit him which is like getting Gandhi to beat his own kids. Charlie just ignores him and tells him that he seems calm to be having his tent ransacked by Jack.

Sawyer looks up and Jack is digging through his stuff and holding medicine bottles. Sawyer runs to the tent yelling at Jack and they start arguing. Jack says that they need the medicine for everyone and Sawyer says that he found it, finders-keepers. He then threatens Jack but Jack just walks away with the medicine. Considering Sawyer's recent health I doubt he would have been much for fighting as it was.

Later Kate comes to Sawyer with a magazine from the hatch. She figures that he needs something else to read since he is fresh out of books. He tells her that he really doesn't need to learn how to give his hair more bounce because it is a woman's magazine. He also tells her that he lost his glasses on the raft but she can feel free to read it to him. When she laughs at this he asks her if she has something better to do, like join Jack and Ana-Lucia's army. Kate looks at him blankly and he realizes that she knows nothing of the army.

Then we cut to Sayid sitting by himself trying to shuck coconuts. Hurley walks up and starts talking to him about Bernard being a dentist. Sayid shows irritation and Hurley says that he just thought he wanted company and conversation because of what happened, besides he was getting somewhere. Bernard gave him the radio they found in the other hatch that they picked up Boone's message on. Sayid says that he can't do anything with that because of Danielle's transmission, but Hurley said he thought he might like to try and then leaves him with the radio.

We find Ana-Lucia and Jack walking through the jungle talking and Jack explains to her about the guns in the vault and he and Locke having the combination. She comments on how they trust each other and how that is the problem, they all feel safe but they aren't. Jack tries to explain that no one feels safe but she says that no one wants to join their army because they do feel safe. They aren't safe and they know it but no one else does.

To accentuate her point we see Sun working in her garden. We hear a noise and she looks up with a concerned look on her face. Vincent comes running out of the jungle and lets her pet him for a bit and then runs back in. A few seconds after he leaves we hear thunder and it begins to rain. (rain=trouble on Lost) Sun looks around suspiciously and we hear another noise, a footstep. She looks around some more and we hear another footstep. Just as she begins to give up looking around a black bag comes down over her head and she gets drug away into the jungle screaming.

Kate and Sawyer are taking shelter from the rain where Kate has been reading the magazine to him (cozy) and then they hear Sun's screams. They run into the jungle looking for her and eventually run across her unconscious body. Kate runs to get Jack while Sawyer carries her back to her tent where Jin is going crazy and speaking in hyper-fast Korean. Jack arrives and calms Jin down and checks out Sun.

While everyone is busy trying to figure out what happened or who could have done this Ana-Lucia quickly responds, "They're back."

This makes everyone jump and Jack decides they need to create a search party. He wants to go get the guns but Locke tells him to at least wait until Sun wakes up. This calms everyone down momentarily but it is obvious that it is only temporary.

Sawyer and Kate decide to go searching where they found Sun to see if they can find any tracks, despite the Others never leaving any. They wander across the bag that was thrown over Sun's head and Kate recognizes it as being like the one they used on her. Sawyer quickly points out that the fabric and stitching is different, the truth is in the details. He doubts this was the Others.

Kate begins to suspect that someone is trying to scare them so that they can get to the guns. She goes to Jack and asks him how well he knows Ana-Lucia. She explains her theory and Jack brushes it aside.

Later Ana-Lucia and Jack are walking along talking about how Steve volunteered to join the Army. Jack corrects her that it is Scott, Steve is dead. (Scott/Steve thing again. That happened in Season 1. Why would Ana be getting it wrong having never met both? Keep an eye on this.) Whatever his name is Ana-Lucia believes that recent events are making people want to join and they are beginning to become properly scared. Suddenly Jack pauses and asks her if she had anything to do with it. Ana-Lucia immediately knows where the idea came from. Jack can be assured that she did nothing like this.

Soon after Sun wakes up and Jack shows up to ask her exactly what happened. She just remembers Vincent, then the rain, and then the bag. She saw no one. While Jack is asking her questions in English Jin keeps asking questions in Korean. She is trying her best to answer both. Finally Jin is fed up and shows the same sentiment everyone seems to have with one of the few English words he knows, gun.

Kate is sitting with Sawyer and watching everything as Ana-Lucia turns and stares at her. This seems to convince Kate that her theory is correct and she tells Sawyer that he has to go warn Locke while she tries to keep them calm.

Sawyer shows up at the hatch to find Locke alphabetizing all the books. He makes a comment about everyone wanting to go look for the attackers while Locke reinstitutes the Dewey decimal system. Locke then asks what it is that he wants and Sawyer tells him about the possible mob heading this way. He need s to change the combination fast.

Locke realizes that this would only slow them down. If Jack wanted the guns he could get them. He asks Sawyer to help him move the guns by pushing the button while he hides them somewhere. Sawyer agrees. Locke asks him why he is doing this and Sawyer answers that it is because it will piss Jack off.

Jack and Jin (sounds like a good drink) show up at the hatch but the vault is completely empty of guns and statues. Sawyer is in the middle of entering the numbers into the computer and tells Jack to hang on because he is about to set a new high score on Donkey Kong. Jack waits until Sawyer pushes the button and then asks him where the guns are. Sawyer explains that Locke went and hid them before the posse showed up. Sawyer then takes on of his painkillers and then gives Jack the bottle back.

Jack goes to the beach where he finds Locke sitting (and meditating?) by a fire. He starts yelling at Locke about breaking their agreement. Locke accuses Jack of just wanting to hand out guns and not thinking about the consequences of another possible accident (looking at Ana-Lucia, who looks upset by this). He goes on to say that he taught Michael how to shoot and then he ran off and he is accepting that possibility but he is not going to be responsible for any more incidents. He continues to refuse despite Jack saying he only wants two guns, one for Jin and himself.

The argument continues to grow and more people gather around until gunshots ring out of the jungle. Everyone turns to see Sawyer walking out with a rifle. He then informs everyone that he is upset that everyone stole his stuff while he was on the raft trying to save their lives and that he can't believe that everyone has let Locke and Jack lead them until now.

"There is a new sheriff in town," says Sawyer. His shaving cream and deodorant don't matter, guns do and if you want one you have to come to him. As he is walking away he turns to Sayid and says, "I bet you want to torture me right now don't you?"

Kate follows Sawyer back to his tent and begins to ask him why and how he could con everyone like this. His only response is that she runs and he cons. That is what they do. She says that all he can figure out is that he wants everyone to hate him and he reminds her that not everyone hates him. Kate looks embarrassed and then walks away.

We find Hurley reading a manuscript by a fire and Sayid walks out of the jungle towards him with the radio and some cable connected to a makeshift antenna in his hand. Hurley explains that he found the manuscript in a suitcase and it is pretty good, a mystery. (This will actually be sold as the Lost book next fall.)

Sayid tells him that he has something for him and shows him the radio. He stakes the antenna in the ground and then sits down and turns on the radio. He begins trying to tune it in and Hurley jumps and some noise thinking it is something but Sayid informs him that reception is good and that is just noise. Then they run across Danielle's signal (make sure we remember her) and then he keeps going explaining that this radio has a wider range than the one from the plane. Eventually they run across some music. It is not what they need but it is pleasant. Hurley thinks that because it is clear it must be close, but Sayid explains that signals at this wavelength bounce off the ionosphere and could be a thousand miles away. It could be coming from anywhere. "Or anytime," says Hurley. (Clue?) They sit and listen to the music. (What about the batteries?)

We fade to Sawyer wandering through the jungle in the dark and he has a bag with him. Charlie comes up to him in out of the darkness. Sawyer doesn't seem surprised and asks if Locke saw him. Charlie says that he was so worried about his guns that he wasn't paying attention. Sawyer hands Charlie a Virgin Mary statue as payment, saying that he figures he wants his friends back, but Charlie doesn't take it. Charlie says that he didn't do it for that, he wanted Locke to look like a fool and be humiliated. He then says that no one can know what he did to Sun. (Charlie is building a small list of crimes and the writers have conned us)

Then Charlie asks Sawyer why and how or even what would make someone think of a scheme like this. Sawyer pauses and thinks back to his con on Cassidy and then just looks at Charlie and says, "I'm not a good man, Charlie."

Questions raised by this episode:

  1. What is sawyer getting at?
  2. What is Charlie getting at?
  3. Are they making their own little mafia?
  4. WTF is going on?

Aside from that there doesn't seem to be much going on in this episode. Next week's preview shows Danielle is back and they catch someone they believe to be an Other as well as a clock counting down to zero, but it looks like a different clock than ours.
Looks interesting.

What do you all think?

Oh, and you might as well face it, you're addicted to Lost. :D

Niiiice, thanks :) So Sawyer attacked Sun to get the guns, or did Charlie? Where are the guns now? Back in the gun room, but with a reconfigured code?

Sawyer and Charlie have both been rejected by the group so i wouldn't be surprised if they team up to some extent. The thought of 'crazy' Charlie and Sawyer having a lockup of guns isn't particularly pleasant though. Locke is going to be pissed if/when he finds out, perhaps this will unite him and Jack?

I predict a riot.

Charlie attacked Sun to set Sawyer's plan into effect. Only Sawyer knows. Sawyer told him that his secret was safe with him, but he todl Kate the same thing only to rat her out in the same episode for his own benefit.

Where are the guns now? Back in the gun room, but with a reconfigured code?
Sawyer has them and no one knows where. They have tracked Sawyer and his stash before so I am willing to bet that the current situation doesn't last long. The only reason I can find for not trying to track Sawyer's stash is the fear that he might use the gun he now walks around with all the time.

As we learned in Season 1 Sawyer has trouble killing people and had to get completely drunk to kill a man that he thought was responsible for ruining his life. He's out of alcohol, so unless he steals the painkillers again or breaks into the heroin I doubt that he will be a true threat for anyone else.

Every good con man needs his lackey and Charlie has been outcast. He is the perfect person for this role because he no longer has loyalty to a group that won't take the time to listen to him, much less believe him.

Claire did take Charlie's advice about the baptism, which means that she believes he was being good at heart and Locke told her that is what he was doing. I predict that when it becomes obvious that Charlie has gone down a dark road Claire will try to save him against Locke telling her it is too late. It will come down to her telling Charlie that she knows he is a better person and Sawyer saying that she is the one who pushed him away.

If that scenario doesn't happen it will be Jack. Jack has continued to accept everyone when they need it and help them to come back to the group whether they are putting themselves in solitude or they have become outcasts. In this scenario I see Locke helping, because like you said they will unite over Sawyer.

I predict a riot.
We have almost had one multiple times over the Jin/Michael fight, Sawyer/Sayid fight/torture, and the raft burning. They have been stopped by Jack and Locke so far.

I remembered something last night. When the raft was burned by Walt in Season 1 Locke covered for him and saved Jin by blaming the Others and making it sound completely obvious, as if there was no other possibility. Now the fear of the Others is what has everyone wanting to get to the guns. He was the one who initially acted like something should be done other than just sitting around. He now opposes any action. The thorn in his side came from the seed he planted. (That was corny and I know I have heard it somewhere before) Could that be part of why he is so protective of gun use and afraid of an accident?

OK, so here is an update from spoilerfix.com.

Important parts in red.
Episode 2.15: Maternity Leave
Airdate: March 1, 2006

02/13 - Guest starring are M.C. Gainey as Mr. Friendly, Mira Furlan as Danielle Rousseau, Michael Emerson as Henry Gale, Tania Raymonde as young girl and William Mapother as Ethan. Source: ABC

02/10 - A desperate Claire, along with Kate and Rousseau, attempts a return to the scene of her kidnapping where she believes she might find the cure for Baby Aaron's mysterious illness. Meanwhile, Jack and Locke must keep their prisoner a secret from the rest of the survivors. Source: ABC

01/30 - Big, huge, huge stuff coming up with Claire and the baby. She has a flashback ep coming up, and in it, Aaron is going to take a turn. Claire is going to start remembering. She's going to go places. Source: Kristin on E!Online

01/16 - You will be learning more about Claire, her baby, AND Danielle in the coming weeks. And although I can't guarantee that nothing bad will happen to any of them -- without real jeopardy, there are no stakes in this story -- and the chance that people we care about will come to harm, well... isn't that why we all keep watching in the first place? I wrote the next Claire episode (along with Dawn Kelly) and I know I can speak for both of us when I say that we hope you enjoy it. Source: Matt Raggs at The Fuselage

01/04 - We have another new survivor. In episode 2.15, we will be introduced to Jessica, 16, who is described as smart, strong, attractive and will be found on the island. She is also described as being "one with nature." They are looking for 18-20 year olds to play her. Source: SecretAgentMan at TWoP
Looks like we get the story on Ethan after all this time.

I wonder what the illness will be, maybe just heat stroke? I mean, she does keep him on the beach all the time. She probably just thinks that Danielle and Ethan had something to do with it since she woke up to him sticking a needle in her stomach. "He was trying to hurt my baby!" Whiney witch, with luck she dies. I am tired of hearing her scream all the time about her baby, even when she was pregnant. She didn't want the thing to begin with.

I just have a low tolerance for repeated screaming by movie/TV characters. If anyone has seen my War of the Worlds rants you know that I wanted Dakota Fanning's character to die too.

As for the new survivor and being one with nature-Ethan was good at the nature stuff too. I think that spoeaks for itself on the possibilities.

And look at the air date! We get another rerun next week? Rumor is women's figure skating singles finals. Kwan is out, so who cares anymore?

Anyway, new episode tomorrow (Wednesday 2/15) and Danielle catches someone she believes to be an Other and Sayid supposedly tortures him. We also see a clock counting down to zero, but it looks slightly different than ours. I bet it is a dream sequence.

The Flashback involves Sayid dealing with a CIA agent. I bet the CIA agent is the guy that Danielle captures and he is infiltrating the Others or something crazy like that. Either way, I bet he isn't an Other.

I want to see how Sawyer and the guns are dealt with too.

I will do the write-up Thursday.

ok, some new episode 14 & 15 spoilers.

EP 14:

ok heres the promo for episode 14.

ok so first off it looks like sayid is captured by the 'other' he is torturing nearer the end of the promo(although you dont get to see the 'other'(see spoilers above).

anyway, whats more intresting is the timer:

look closely and compare that with the 'original' timer from episode 2:

theyre different!!!! this means

A). there in a different hatch(quite likely)
B). its a dream (not likely)

what else do you think the different timer is on the promo??

--------------------------------------------------------

ep 15 info:

on the promo pics you see claire looking into a DIFFERENT HATCH(or what kristin said was a 'hatch like object'

So Jessica is Danielle's daughter right? Or was Zeke's Alex definitely Danielle's daughter? Either way an attractive 18-20 female sounds like a perfect addition to the cast :D

Both eps sound great, shame there's going to be another episodeless week. Still haven't seen The Long Con yet :(

I don't think that is Sayid because the skin tone and hair seem different, but I could be wrong.

While I agree that it is one of the two you mentioned I am afraid that it might actually be the clock in the hatch. I say that because In episodes 1-3 things in the hatch changed appearance. At the beginning of episode 1 when Desmond is listening to music and exrecising and whatnot the record player is silver metal. In episode 2 when he turns it on to scare Jack it is wooden. In episode 3, after all the tension calms down a bit, it is silver metal again. So, while the clock isn't the clock we keep seeing it may still be the same clock. I don't know what is up with the hatch. Check out images from episodes 1-3 and things go from clean to dingy and then clean again if you look at when Sawyer was sick and in the hatch in episode 9.

Episode 1 record player
Episode 2 record player

I hope that this is just a continuity/prop error or the producers messing with us and not a hint as to what kind of metaphysical mystery is going on on the island.

Look here: (clickable)

If you click on the image from the website you get a huge (2010x1340) image and you can clearly see the medical symbol in the middle of the logo. Perhaps it is a medical storage locker? This could be very, very important for Jack, but create more problems with the Others if they are using them.

Alex is Danielle's daughter, and in the podcast they said that Zeke's Alex is the same one. Whether Jessica is just Alex in disguise is a mystery. A lot of people saw the casting call for a 16-20 yr old and assumed it would be for Alex. Jessica could just be another survivor.

Like you, I think another young, attractive woman is not a bad thing.

Both eps sound great, shame there's going to be another episodeless week. Still haven't seen The Long Con yet
A week without an episode gives me free time to edit an burn two episodes to DVD.

Why haven't you seen The Long Con yet? I know a couple of online sites if you PM me, because I don't know their legitimacy.

Or when the clock gets down to single digits, it's different. Quite possible to get your attention if you are used to seeing it the "right" way. God forbid you don't hear the alarm.

He doesn't mean the color, he means the fact that the clock in the promo has spaces between each digit while the clock we have always seen up to now only has a space between the minutes and seconds, even when getting down to one second remaining.

Once you notice this you suddenly realize that short of being timers they aren't remotely close to looking alike.

has anyone seen 14 yet? im downloading it now

EPISODE 14 WRITE-UP
FROM ABC.COM:

One of Them
Air Date: 02/15/2006
We open in FLASHBACK on an Iraqi bunker during the first Gulf War. As bombs continue to fall around them, a brutal Republican Guard commander urges his soldiers to destroy their documents before it's too late. The door is kicked in and a squad of American soldiers captures the Iraqi soldiers. They want to know who is in charge and thankfully one of the new prisoners speaks English. Sayid.

Sayid is taken aside for questioning and asked where the commander, Tariq, is. But Sayid is a loyal member of the Republican Guard, so he tells the Americans that Tariq fled long before they arrived. And it looks like the Americans believe him. Until he is led into a room to find Tariq tied to a chair in front of him.

On the island, Rousseau has been spotted near the camp on the beach. And when Sayid asks what she is doing there, she tells him she was looking for him. She leads him through the jungle; she has something important to show him. They arrive in a clearing to find a man hanging in a net from a tree. Rousseau has given them a prisoner.

Back in FLASHBACK, Sayid is being used to translate the interrogation of his own commanding officer. The Americans are looking for a missing helicopter pilot and they know Tariq can lead them to him. But the commander refuses to cooperate. And Sayid's continuing loyalty clouds his own involvement, despite the threats of what's to come.

Sayid is introduced to a man who has some information about what kind of man Sayid's boss really is. He tells Sayid it is very important they find the missing helicopter pilot, but he knows Tariq will never talk to him. That's why Sayid is going to have to make him talk to him. And so Sayid goes back inside the holding room with Tariq. Only this time he brings a few things with him. Horrible things…

Back in the Hatch now, Sayid is "talking" to this prisoner. And honestly, the guy tells a very compelling story. It sounds like he's a victim in all of this, just like the rest of them. And Sayid may have more in common with this man than he realizes. But he wants to be sure. After what he has been through, Sayid needs to be sure. And we see just how much Sayid has learned since that dark day back in Iraq with Tariq. Even after he swore never do anything like that again.

But, you see…that's the thing about human nature. We all have a dark side. And if we need something badly enough, there is almost no limit to what we will do, or who we will become in order to get it. i have to add to this.im not sure but judging by the promo, jack and locke have a fight about pushing the button. And, the promo makes it look like they dont pust the button and so the (different) timer gets to zero. im gonna presume the episode ends there(seems obvious). if im wrong, please correct me.
