Just thought i'd make a topic about the Lotus Evora since on gt planet it's hardly been mentioned.

It's a fast car, and is worth the 100,000 Cr it costs. When I looked at gt5p's news list and learned the Evora had been added the first thing i did was save up 100,000 Cr and buy it. Like the elise, it has lotus's magic conering which allows you to take the other cars on the inside of the coner and is basicly just the same perfomace as a japanese sports car only quicker.

As a said eailer, just thought i'd make a post about an understated car.

What do you think of it??

I do! It's spectacular! despite the messed up tranny, it's competitive an better to drive than stock 111R.. it's also beautiful and menacing and and and.. yeah, I'm in love :O

Thumbs up from me for the Evora. Handles really well. I'll still always be more of an Elise person, but I do like the Evora. Great to be able to choose it in so many colours too, including that mental bright green :D

Anybody know why PD decides to make the final drive "frozen" on any of the cars in the game? Did they do it to the Evora, because they didn't get the PP calculation right on it, so they had to give it a quick handycap at the last minute?

Quite annoying, as many of you know.

Great looking car, best of the new ones. But a little dissapointed with performance,ie tranny.

I truly love the car! It looks, sounds and handle great. Only downside is the messed up transmission. Every time you change gears the engine drops below its optimum powerband and you feel as if the car is really really really underpowered until the car reaches 6,000rpm or so. Maybe a bit more power (tuning in GT5 anyone) will make this a truly spectacular car

I like it, the exterior and interior, except the gear ratios.

I think I'm the only one who thinks its a bit bland to look at and at some angles worse, handling as always is spot on! It seems under powered and with 270bhp it shouldn't really be the case, the fixed gear ratios dont help with the lack of torque but the main issue is its heavy for a lotus making its power to weight ratio not what it should be, I just wish I could of chosen my exige in that toxic green.

I like this car so much I haven't even tried the other two new additions yet, and I did the update something like 6 hours ago! I realise that it's the first day of the update but this is one of the only cars that has allowed me to break into the top 10 (now 11 :P) on Suzuka and Fuji time trials in professional mode. It really suits me, I love its appearance and just like someone said, it's damn good for 6th at Suz 750PP ;)

I echo the statements about the gearbox, and I just wish there was an online event this car could be very competitive in amongst the Pro events. It's not even that competitive at 600PP, I've managed to stick it 67th or something at the Pro Suzuka 600PP time trial, appears to be the highest placed Evora on that list. I actually had to replace the R3s with R2s because the weight reduction did more for the car than the R3 tyres.

All the best
Maz

I love the Evora!!! I even bought the car in Isotope Green, it's a beautiful combination. :O

I think this color is the most exotic color in the world. How often will you see this on a car?

I love this car...its now my favorite drift car and its the power curve is smooothhhh...only thing i hate about it is the crazy tall gear ratios.

I am indeed loving this car. However, I have to say the styling (especially the rear end) is a bit challenging. From the rear it looks like a fat kid squinting. Not an attractive taillight arrangement, in my opinion. Definitely not as hideous as the rear end of a certain new Ferrari, but not the best looking Lotus to be sure.

Styling aside, it's a real giggle to drive. I'm loving it in the sort of off white color with the red interior.

;)

Has anyone else noticed that redline on the tach with the incar view is about 6750 rpm but all other tacs is 7K?

Other then the wide gear ratios that everyone else has mentioned (not sure if they are accurate, but even though the F40's are really wide, they are correct), the handling is great.

Nice to see the Evora is liked by you all, :) Me and Leigh, (awd208) had a great race @ Suzuka in our isotope green Evora's yesterday. Like others have said, shame we cant adjust the fianal gear ratio.

I Know why the gearing is all screwed up

its because there aren't any official top speed and 0-62 times , did a quick Google search and every site lists a sub 5 sec . The gearing is screwed up because a they are trying to hide ts performance from competitors if they had the real ratios , then with the HP and weight they could easily guess how fast it would be .

Is that the same colour found on the '99 Motorsport Elise? (A quite popular car back in GT3)

Similar to a colour you can get on a Holden Commodore...

A.k.a., Thins 'Light N' Tangy' chip-coloured. Although I wouldn't be caught dead in a Commodore with such a colour.
