Delphic Reason
When you lower the LSD decel, the car will keep sliding after you release the throttle... Therefore, lowering the LSD decel (depending on weight, torque, tire choice, so on) keeps the car from regaining grip and snapping back...

I agree to this. I'm in the process of tuning up a whole bunch of GT racers at the moment, and they sure like to grip ;) I tend to keep decel at 10 for looseness, and brake drifting doesn't seem to suffer at all. Having a tight car that grips every chance it gets isn't my idea of fun, I really prefer a little looseness.. it also seems to make smooth exits easier. We're not after stability on the straights anyway, are we? :dunce:

I'm not so sure about how I feel about high accel LSD though... A bunch of the cars I'm tuning at the moment are quite peaky, and when the revs drop a bit I really have to fight to keep the rear wheels spinning. With that kind of power (600+) I really try to avoid downshifting too far cause it's easy to burn out. I feel that a 30-40 accel setting may work best for peaky cars, though I haven't totally convinced myself yet.

I guess the amount of low end torque dictates how much the car benefits from a high accel setting.. feel free to correct me here, I'm trying to learn this game as much as everyone else ;)

The GT1 has torque like a mofo, so I can break the rear loose all thru 1st and 2nd gear, I will try lowering the deccel a little bit see if it helps.

Hehe, The McLaren SLR is even worse I think. 900+ Torque and weights more than a tonne. I wonder what the engineer was thinking. I don't even dare to start tuning that car for a drift. Back to topic. Yeah, DR is correct. Lowering the Decel setting will keep the wheelspinning. My default would be 15/45/15 for most of the drift cars that's bout 400-600 BHP range. As for the snap back, modulate it bit by bit. I'm using DS2 for my drifiting, instead of using ur hand to feel the car's movement, look for changes in the cars characteristic. You can see the car's weight shifting as well as settling into a corner easily. (True rite???) Take a few practise through the same corner and I think that will help a lot.

Damn! I thought I had one on you for a sec, DP.. LoL!

I was getting my "Snap" and "Lift" mixed up for some reason.. you are correct..
