I know they have the shuffle race which is ok from time to time but I like to use my own cars, and lots of room hosts tend to set the regs up to specifically suit their car. So would a lucky dip race be a good idea? Each race would have a random power and weight limit generated then presented with a track. Then you've got to find the best match out of your garage. I know you can do this yourself but if it's out of your control you won't get the raise power 15, drop kg 30 comments. Plus you might get some interesting combos come up that you might not have thought of yourself.

Nice idea. I really wish somebody would compile a big list of what GT PLanet users want. I would but am far to busy in the drifting forum

shame there isn't a brainstorming thread that PD could browse through once in a while.
 
Exactly. Their is so many good ideas running through GTP and after a couple weeks, their gone never to be seen again. Shame, shame, shame
 
They could also add the possibility to add ballast to your car to get it to comply with weight limitations and why not some sort of fantasy "intake restrictor" to limit the power. :)

With ballast there would also be the tuning possibility to make your car underweight for the event and use the added ballast to shift the weight balance of the car... for good or bad...

I don't think GT5P let you adjust the placement of the ballast, but yeah :)

Also would be nice for people having leagues to be able to place success ballasts and penalty ballasts.

Yes 👍 And show them to you when you are online, so you can check nobody is cheating :).
 
maybe a littel off topic, but i still remember in one rfactor ETCC league where my Audi had 80kg success ballast. Took a lot of tuning and adjusting driving technique to stop the tires from cooking...

On the other hand i don't have time to stare at motec telemetry program hours on end anymore so the lighter aproach of GT5 is welcome. :)

Pardon my ignorance, but how does the host set up a shuffle race to suit his car? i have only joined a few shuffle race lobbies and it appeared everyone gets a different car in each race. Is the host exempt from this "shuffle" at the start of each race and allowed to chose what car he can drive?

Give more choices like tyres and hp options i shuffle races! And we need more recomended cars for online racing. Please give us all Nascar cars in recomended cars :)

I think he meant that either it's a shuffle race, or that the host has set the HP/weight restrictions in favour of his own car only.

That was an exellent system! I wonder why they decided to make it different for GT5.I know it was basically the Arcade quick tune from GT4,but it worked like a charm.You could beat a more powerful car with your elise etc. This made for some awesome close/on the limit racing.👍

Now it's just racecar galore.:yuck:

They need to copy alot of what FM3 has and just add to that. Like team racing online and limiting the amount of cars or types, etc. It would suck doing team racing in GT5 in a multi-class format (which GT5 also needs) and know that you'll never get a "true" first place because the other half of the field you're not really racing against is that much more powerful than you.

Again, basically if you can't recreate the ALMS series in the game online then it needs to be patched to do so. You win the GT3 class but you're always in 9th place getting 9th place money. Where you should be getting 1st place in your group AND the game recording accordingly.
 
I liked prologue's point system. I think it made for more even racing. I am sick of everyone running Racing softs. Makes it boring.

Possibly a power to weight ratio system could work as well.
 
I think this is a brilliant idea. It would be awesome to have a random BHP and Weight limit. I love joining random lobbies with different power restrictions and racing them. I find racing the same car and over and over a bit boring.
