No difference from lower level damage.

"Level 40" damage:

You can also purchase the X1s at Level 40.
Part of "completing the game" is getting to level 40, so I can't understand why you wouldn't want to get there as fast as possible?

Nürburgring 24h race - that's why. :)

has anybody reached lvl 40 or close like in the mid to high 30's?? i really want to see the damage. lol
Not again...
Stop that damn myth! Damage won't change as your level gets higher!
If you want to see more complex damage go play online!

While this post is here, if BOB gets to level 40 will it open up the X1 for purchase? Or does it have to be my Bspec overall level or can I only open it via ASpec?

So online damage is more realistic? But is it realistic?

Meaning, offline, I am very disappointed in the damage model as hitting a wall or another car at 100+ km/h should result in totalled car. Especially an F1.
Is the online damage realistic mechanically? Or is there a setting to change?

This is my first GranTurismo game, I've been racing on the PC for years and the driving physics are pretty much on par with GTR, graphics are much better but the damage is far behind.

I really want to love this game because it's so much easier to turn on the PS3 and do a quick race on a 50 screen than booting a PC and using a 24 inch LCD.

I will try online tonight.

Online and arcade now have mechanical damage, it's nothing near what I'd call "realistic" but it's better than nothing.

Mostly it just makes your car turn one way or the other on it's own or messes with your revs. As far as I know you can't total your car. You can damage it to the point where there is zero chance of you winning though.
