I see that there are two other members with ///M pride browsing this forum right now. How about we start a thread talking about all of the wonderful cars released by the blue red and purple division over the years.

Post pictures of your cars, other cars, whatever. I reserve the right however to delete any posts of 4-door e36s with altezzas and cler corners.

These pics below are a re-post of the ones in the Member's Rides sticky at the top of the forum.

This is my current M3.

1998 BMW M3 Sedan
Alpine White, 5-Speed Manual Transmission,
UCC Short Shifter, Axxis Ultimate Pads, ECIS Cold Air Intake. Factory camber bolts for -2.0 degrees F/R.

Here's an action shot at an autocross... that handsome (and fast) devil behind the wheel is your's truly.

The M3/4 is my fourth BMW. When I sold the Cosmos coupe, I was ready for something different. The only stipulation was that it needed to be a sedan. I tried a bunch of different cars... an IS300, a 540i, Audi A4, even a Mercedes C36 AMG.

But in the end, the E36 M was just such a complete package, I had to go back to it. This car does whatever you ask of it with no complaints. Daily commuter with good comfort, grocery getter with decent sized trunk, long distance GT, balls out back road sports car. You can drive it like a granny to church or sideways like you were 17 again, its happy with it all. Even today, the E36 fairs up pretty well, so high were its standards in 1994.

Here's my previous M3...

1995 M3 Coupe
Cosmos Black, 5-Speed Manual Transmission
Jim C ECU, BL/SS Kit, Factory camber adjustment bolts, Carbotech pads, Kumho V700 Victoracers in "budget" ESP Trim

The smirk on my face is from setting top time in ESP for the day

Lined up in the "paddock". You can't really tell from the pic, but those are fatty 255/40s tires in the rear... they barely cleared the fender.

On the grid besides a 320hp Street-Mod low-pressure Turbo M3 (notice the intercooler)

Another action shot, different day.

This car saw a lot of Solo II action. I won the local class championship for 2000 in it. It wasn't modded to the limits of the rules by any means, but the factory did such a good job with the basic car that it doesn't need much to shine.

A good autocross alignment with a set of standard OEM camber bolts and I was running -2.0 degrees all around. Some good auto-x brake pads, sticky tires and I was good to go.

Its such an easy car to drive fast, its not even funny. An M3 can turn a good driver into a great one, and a brilliant one into an absolute monster.

Before this car I had a '92 E36 325is and an '86 E30 325e. They were both excellent cars in their time, but the M3 ownership experience has far exceeded my expectations.

I need to collect all of the pictures I have of my car onto this PC. These are the pics I posted on s14.net before.

I took them over a weekend at BIR last summer. 10th annual exotic car invitational, it was a good time. Drove up with another E30 M3 owner I just met from s14.net. He actually bought the car I looked at 6 months before I found mine.

This is me being talked to by one of the instructors because the ***** driving one of the 360s was getting a little too intimidated watching me in his mirrors. You can see some of the other cars that weekend. What looks like a porsche right there was a RUF CTR 2 i believe. And then the GTO Ferrari, all 12 intake horns under the hood.

This guy was cool, forgot his name, ****. He knows a lot about E30 M3s, hes owned 4. This is the car he built for one lap of america.

advan: Nice E30. What the hell is a Eclipse doing there amoungst the 250, a Diablo and a CTR2??

lsk8er: Thanks!

Fast1: Thanks for the link, even though I think TopGear is the lamest of the UK car mags (especially that cretin Clarkson).

yea, i dont know. some people jst drove up with us that weekend, not even for the track event. a guy in a miura made the trip as well, only to disappear the day after.

the drive up was fun though :) . too bad my car wasnt as badass as it is now though, then. 210hp/2800lb 230hp/2600lb. i couldnt keep up with most cars. it was awesome though, driving the one lane roads, and having it all of a sudden break into two lanes everyone drops a gear. a 996 turbo, '03 cobra, 308, and more all at WOT. that turbo and cobra were gone.

for the day i think i topped at 135mph. the turbo was most certainly seeing 160+.

btw, that diablo was in front of me on the track when he blew a spurt of blue smoke. it turned out to be something fried in the drivetrain (forgot what).

My current wallpaper. Not my car, but without the centercaps on the stock rims it reminds me a lot of M3 in track trim.

I like that I can have a wallpaper of an E30, without 20k into it. And it still looks so creamy. Stock rims and no visible modifications.

I took my car out for a wash today, rimswap, and storage at another location.

I got to drive it, something i havent been able to do for a long time. minus 40+lbs of the sub and amp, as well as a passenger, it is much quicker. with the ****ty tires on it, it is so much damn fun.

smoking the tires through second :) its like a fricking gokart. point, stomp, and shoot. If there was only a way to explain the joy of controlling the rear of the car with throttle manipulation.

I am now off to school in new york for spring semester. focus will be on other things. I am looking forward to driving it out there this spring break, but I do not have plans yet.

modifications on the mind:

-TMS J-stock suspension system
-maxx alpha N (eliminates flapping door AFM, gobs of torque gained everywhere, instantaneaus throttle response. maybe the carbon fiber airbox to go with it :) )
-lightweight flywheel (8lb aluminum, or 12lb evo)
-z3 1.9 shift lever
-carbon fiber fenders (fenders are to be replaced, same price as OEM, 5lb saved a side)
-KVR alloy 4-piston calipers

to do list for spring:

-get bracket for recaro SPG and install
-install carbon fiber splitter
-install brake duct system
-have roll bar welded in
-install aluminum control arms
-alignment
-remove power steering goodies

hmm, there is so much more.
