I'm struggeling to get gold in this challenge.
Any setting or alternative lines that you can reckommend?
Normally I don't bother using the driving line option, but due to frustration I used it here, but it didn't help me at all. I'm about 0.8 sec from the gold time, but am on the virge of giving up due to frustration.

Could you please tell us your settings? As in Aids, transmission, Sixaxis or Wheel?

Do you use any tuning? Or have you not un locked the QTS yet?

It's pretty much impossible in that mission to attain gold to 99.9% of the GT population. And I for one don't see how it is possible to get a Gold (I've done over 200 laps with various top ghost replays and I can't even get under 1'15.000). Silver alone is a monumental accomplishment. 👍

Meh i've done silver on a pad. im guessing you just need the accuracy of a wheel to get things just right.

Pretty sure you cant QT on either of the nordland events.

Standard physics, due to lack of steering wheel. Everything else off.
Currently back on standard setting because I was unhappy with my personalised ones.
Only thing I've adjusted is damping 5-5 and spring 5-5.

I'm insistent on not using TCS, ASM or ABS since I'm "cheating" already because I use standard physics. Though this car has advanced TCS, ASM and ABS in real life. So actually driving it without ABS and TCS is perhaps less realistic?

On the pad I cant stop the car from swapping ends on the fast right/left at the start ... I cant wait for my g25 to arrive so i can correct oversteer instead of praying :p

that event is very similar to viper eiger event in ex-prologue version.
it's impossible to get gold in pro mod everything is off.
in standart mode it's possible.

I'm using Standard mode and i still think it's impossible. The best time i've got is a 1'16. Is there anyone out there that has actually got gold on this event?

As with all (in my opinion) these single car events the gold requires you to gain 1/2 seconds from slipstream - this is obviously pretty whacky on nordland when I caught abit of slipstream down each 'straight' I got silver by a few hundreths.
I leaving nordland till I get my wheel and just earning monies for more cars (inc F1), my new favourite challenge is the ford GT round HSR, if you take it easy on your outlap and set yourself up to slipstream the elise/skyline(? some big car with spoiler :p) down the main straight you'll find yourself with a perfect slipstream from the 350z coming out the final bend - awesome fun!

I only managed to do silver with standard physics yet, but I think it is manageable to get gold. I noticed that the way you get out of certain bends on this course can easily mean half a second in the following time trap, so putting down a good lap can mean one or more seconds less than prior attempts, wehich seemed to be reasonably quick.

I noticed that both gold drivers did use a pad there. I actually think that this is a particular advantage in this race, as you can easily archieve full steering lock for the tight corners...

Stop calling it nordland.

It's "Eiger Nordwand", which means / translates to the north face of the Ogre, a 1,170 ft high (elevation 13,025 ft) mountain in Switzerland.

My interpretation was 'Northwall' (german) and I nicknamed it nordland (german wartime magazine) chillax!

Maybe but it's not a necessity. I golded it with Standard physics today, driving with a G25. The hairpins don't need full lock, around 200° is enough. It was easy by no means, the time for me was 1'12,9xx and the lap was just about flawless. No hopes for me of doing it in Pro physics.

Are you cheating lil using standard physics? You know you'll end up beating it on professional don't you, pull out some hair maybe, but so anyway what's the sense? :D
j/k I'm just smiling sarcasticaly at your sheer inefficiency at this game. If it's hard then it is Gran Turismo and it is good!

Some day, probably. Now I just wanted to get it out of the way. I've managed silver with Professional so with a good draft down the back straight and some insane no-matter-what-happens driving through the hairpins it's probably possible. It just takes that lap on which everything clicks.

I've now managed silver on standard but need another 0.96 sec of my time.
Think it's doable but finding it extremely challenging to get a "perfect" lap down.

Does anyone know what's the best settings to use for this race?
You can't use quicktune in this kind of races, so the settings are irrelevant. You can use driving aids, but you'll surely be better with more skill and less aids. :sly:

EDIT:
The second one has aids on. He is throtteling to the top while he steers. That's imposible with the M3.
Actually, you can do that without trouble on standard physics.

Yeah sorry, i know you cant use QT but i meant to say Driving aids settings;)
I just got a 1'13.336, nearly there!

I can't get anywhere near on this challenge using Standard physics with all aids off, I can get a 1'15.750 but that's the closest I can get! The car just doesn't seem to want to accelerate as quickly as those videos that were posted...

suffering from the same problems as you guys=-(
im about .5 of the time but cant go any faster....
i found the best way to keep time in the 2nd sector is to keep it in 3rd on the3rd corner,
and drive like a nutter through the hairpins.
my only issue is the last corner/bend.....

I finally did it. Took me almost a full day, my fingers are bloody sore now lol

All i can suggest to anyone who is trying to do it is turn all driving aids off and try and use manual gears as it's much easier that way. Good luck;)
