M30

Get the Chrysler version and you could save A LOT of money... That is, if they haven't rusted completely apart already...

You know, Chrysler, Plymouth, and Dodge all had a version of that car - and all were called the Conquest. However they weren't sold simultaneously - Dodge and Plymouth sold theirs early on ('84-'86) and then Chrysler took over with the best-known model in 1987 which went through 1989.

Unreliable trash.

Cressida has widest turn signals ever. Or longest.

Yeah a cressida would be sweet also. I like the 90's gen of it and how they run a 7m from the MA's Supra. as far as t-birds go i'm not so sure. Thanks for all of the info on them but my dad has an lincon MarkVII LSC which shares the same platform and after driving it and my celebrity i'm pretty much done with american cars. It was just something about that M30 that I saw. I think that the Cressida would make a good car but i heard that the 7m's are prone to over heating

That's what we call a lie.

Words of advice freind, contrary to all you've learned from initial D and NFS Underground, a car doesn't need a bodykit to be cool. Infact, generally adding a bodykit to such a car instantly makes it uncool.

Second, doing an auto to manual swap is A LOT harder than clicking a few icons and waiting for the dings. If someone with seriously no automotive know how such as yourself was able to do a tranny swap like that, do you seriously think my SVX would still be auto? Even if it was that easy, it would cost UPWARDS of $1000-$1500, assuming I did all the labor myself (I'm not exactly qualified to drill through a car's FIREWALL)

If you remeber I had a cressida for a while and it was a wonderful car. It blew a head gasket because I ruptured a coolant hose and never noticed. I know you're considering a M30 cause your dad is gonna buy you one or whatever. But seriously, if it comes down to you having to summon up your own cash, just buy a Z31. Same car, lower price. Or you could go for the cool factor and get a 200SX SE (S12).

And you know, all these guys are right. I know you've been diluted by the recent tuner culture, but I assure you, driving an american car will not kill you, nor will you lose "cool points" Though I will admit, your celebrity is pretty jankedy, the "R:RACING" sticker and fake guages really don't help either.

Wait, he drives a Chevrolet Celebrity?

...As a GM guy, even I can't defend that...

I'm with the rest of the guys just by yourself a similar car with what you want rather tthan buying one an modding when you could've just got it in the first place.

Nissan's answer to Toyota Soarer. It didn't work. Soarer, which later became the Lexus SCs in the States, used to be awesome. Until the current gen model, I think it was one of the coolest Toyotas ever.

Sorry, my ADD must've kicked in. I've always liked M30, because it reminded me of my very first car, 1985 Maxima. Especially the rear end. It's not the most reliable, or fastest, or anything like that, but M30 I think is a very cool & unique selection. Also, this is the "Lexus convertible" Mark Wahlberg kept on blabbering about in "Three Kings"(great movie).

P.S. I also love the late 80's through 90's T-Bird. As far as the "looks" go, one of my favorite Fords. 👍

Edit:

P.P.S. I liked Celebrity, when I first moved here in '87. Man, I am messed up.
P.P.P.S. I rode in a Cressida, just like the one in the pic, except it had a Supra motor in it(I forget which). It was fast, but what a POS that ride was. It rides real nice stock though.

Silly guy, ALL Cressidas have suprar motors.

But yeah Ice, me and Wolfgang know him. He's a kid we met at the local arcade. He's pretty cool, but as his little bodykit comment showed, he's still kinda trapped in the ricer phase. To be fair, even fresh outta high school I still dreamed of having a riced up Mazda RX7 [FC3S]. Nowadays I'd still love one, but I can fully appreciate the designer's choices and don't think I can make them better.

Unless of course I'm in a 240Z. Then I NEED two things; flared fenders and a front spoiler.

I will admit the M30 is rather unique and would fit neatly in our "general" fleet. It's cool and it's own right, but still different enough to kinda give it a unique flavor.

THOUGH, in his defense. It's his first car. I can't blame his folks for buying him a cheap beater he could afford to ruin. My folks did the same. Though it was a mark II Jetta.

This one was a swapped with a turbo engine, which was one of the reason why it rode bad, but was fast. What I don't remember is which genenration Supra engine it had. Also, wasn't Cressida engines the tuned down version of the Supra's?

*Looks up Celebrity*
Oh that? Lollerskates.

@a6m5: They were the same engine, but I dunno if they had different power ratings.

Both NA motors were rated at the same power. It's just that the Cressida was only available with that big posh automatic tranny. Swap in a 5 speed and it's just literally a 4 door MK3 Suprar.

Now a turbo motor is a different story...

My bad. For some reason, I thought it was toned down, but when I was into those cars, I was like 13, so it was long time ago. :D

I also used to like the fact that my '85 Maxima had V-6 lifted out of 300ZX, though even my current car's 4-cylinder has more power than that now. :P

Yeah, I'll admit it i do drive a POS celebrity with a R:racing stick and fake gages on it that can't even out run the on lod A-team van (Think Mr.T). does anyone know what kind of lsd comes with the M30??

I'd be willing to bet that it doesn't have one at all. Remember, not all RWD vehicles have it. You could do a hillbilly LSD setup if you really wanted to, but its not worth investing in the parts.
