Is there some sort of emulator that will let me run Mac-only applications on a PC? The software i want to run is compatible with Intel-based Macs, so theoretically that shouldn't be a problem. Is it possible to dual boot a Mac OS either via a typical Dual boot, or via Virtual Machine? If this has been covered before, please point me to the relevant thread.

Also, before I get every fanboy under the sun in here fighting over Mac v PC, I cannot afford a new computer, and the software I want to use is the educational version of Final Cut Pro, as it is the industry standard program for the Television/Film Industry (which I am currently trying to break into), and only available for Macs.

I don't know the exact reason or details, but as a Mac user, and soon-to-be Intel Mac user, i've read up a lot on the new 'boot camp' software that allows the opposite of what you are after. I seem to remember seing your question asked in one of the Mac mags and, unfortunatly for you, i don't think its possible. I think it has something to do with the way a PC boots, but like i said, i can't remember the exact reasons why its not possible. Maybe Vista will change this?

I suggest you type your question into Google, you'll probably find a more educated answer in a PC Forum somewhere.

Yes, there are ways to run Mac OS X on a PC, but it is against the Apple's End User License Agreement. Since Final Cut Pro has fairly hefty system requirements, I don't know how smoothly it would run on a Virtual Machine.

Any such EULAs have been proven in court to non-legally binding...

I would still like to give it a crack. You never know if you never try.

Could you please point me in the direction of some instructions on how to go about said integration?

Perhaps you're right, but I'd rather not take on Apple Computer in court to prove it ;)

Go on...live a little! :P

Parrellels is said to be better for Intel Mac's than Boot Camp, and if you fark your Intel Mac up with Boot Camp, Apple won't fix it or something like that. (Read it on MacRumors, I believe.) :)

Yes, it is possible for you to boot Mac OS X on a PC. It's possible to boot through VMWare and to boot natively, as I have a friend who boots it through VMWare while I dual boot both Mac OS X and Windows XP natively. But to boot it natively would require some modification to the Mac OS, and it's also illegal and would violate the AUP.

So Gooster, I'll PM you or MSN message you.

I have just done a check with WCPUID, and my CPU is not SSEx compatible, so I am assuming that it is not possible to run OS X on this CPU, so I may have to bite the bullet, and buy a secondhand iMac or similar.
