Mac recording software

So guys I need some help. I'm soon going to buy recording stuff but I don't have a program to record with or produce music. I was thinking of the lower editions of Protools, but I don't have the funds necessary to buy M-Audio hardware(only my monitors will be M-Audio, because they look nice and sounded great when I listened to them in the store :sly: ) Protools 9 full isn't a option for me since I won't have $600 because it's going to be a couple months until my friend and I start a business. So do you guys know of any good, cheap recording software for mac?(Please do not respond with Audacity, I don't want to go too cheap a$$ with this because I have a long list of musicians that want me to record their work.) I might consider recording on my Windows 7 laptop, but I'm nervous there's going to be too much recording lag...:(
 
I am a professional musician, and I do quite a bit of electronic music composition, concert pieces for live performance with electronics, etc...


get Logic Pro, no others.

I'm going to download it soon, hopefully it'll be just right. :)
 
It's way better than Pro Tools, although Pro Tools does very specific things well. Logic is very user-friendly, especially if you have ever worked in Garageband. Tons of tutorials online as well, and many free sampled instruments to download.
