Thinking of nuying the wheel as a test to see if I will even like using a wheel. Has anyone used this wheel before. I know its not the best but should be a good starting point. Does it have a paddle shifter or is it just the shifter on the side? Thanks

You will like using a wheel. It takes some time to get used to, but I dont anyone that has gone with a wheel, and went back to a controller.

The only problem is, Mad Catz, is a company known for shoddy products. If you want to get a budget wheel to start off, I suggest finding a Microsoft one. After you get that, you will want to upgrade to a Fanatec. I wish I would have listened to people telling me the same and skipped buying 2 wheels, and just saved up for a Fanatec in the first place.

I had the wheel awhile ago, for about 1 day :ouch:.
It broke the first day I got it. I opened the wheel check the problem and found that it was a wiring problem. The wiring and materials seem very brittle. The wheel is like a toy. Id suggest that you wait for the Thrustmaster 458 wheel. And yes, it has flappy paddles on the side.

Here is my thinking. If I enjoy using this wheel im going to to buy a great wheel and chair setup. When that gets here I will return the Mad Catz wheel to best buy. I will have some experience with this wheel when I get the fanatec wheel.

Save the hassle and buy a Fanatec. There is no FFB on the Mad Catz and it will be a world of difference to a proper wheel.

I don't know if this has been covered before, but is G27 compatible with FM4? I know it wasn't in FM3, so just wondering if I should sell my G27 and get a Fanatec..

#threadjack (sorry!)

edit: just did some research on this website and found my answer!

Just to clarify, it's the XBox 360 itself that the G2x and DFGT are not and never will be compatible with.

The options are:

Fanatec GT2 or CSR
Madcatz MC2
Used MS Wheel
MS Speedster 'thing'
Thrustmaster 458 Italia

@ OP

It's a good wheel. I had one myself and it works very well. It has a cool rev display and gear stick. Good fun wheel. It has no FFB, or H shift or clutch, so it's sequential. That partly makes it a great wheel to use, a lot of fun. Go for it. Mine I had for a few months (it was used) and it had no problems until I stopped borrowing it.
