Woohoo! I can't believe it but I actually was able to get a copy of it reserved for me at Blockbuster. Has anyone else had a chance to play the game? If so, how is it? I will post my thoughts after I get a chance to play it:tup:.

I'm hoping to rent it soon as well and see what all the supposed hype is about, but really every madden game has some kind of hype chained to it.

(I apologize for the double post, I wanted the edit to be seen from the forum)
My review (A bit incomplete for now but will most likely grow.)

Superstar mode is really really cool. You actully go through a random set of parents, until you get the desired pedigree, and go from there on to getting drafted, getting movie roles (actually interactive lol), getting tatoos, and hiring an agent. There are many more things that go on such as interviews, training camp, and individual practices (which are really neat and fun minigames). As for the rest of the game, so far I have barely scratched the surface. There are many modes on the disc that have gone un-played.

Now for actual game play. Everything is top notch. I really like the kicking system (not sure if its new or not since I have not played madden 06) but it consists or pulling the right stick back until the desired power is reached, and then flicking the stick forward. For other parts of the game, everything is relatively the same, which isn't really a bad thing at all. Another new feature that has to do with superstar mode, in superstar mode when your player is out on the feild, you only have control over THAT single character. IE, if your a quarterback, you throw the ball to the reciever, and from there your done. In superstar mode, every play you do will most likely alter your "Reputation". If you throw an interception, your rep will go down. On the other hand, if you throw a touchdown pass it will raise your reputation. Pretty cool little system IMO. Kicking onside kicks has decreased in difficulty (to me) and are way easier to pull off.

This game is basically the same madden with Enough cool new features added on to warrant a purchase. This will most likely the first game I will buy for my Xbox that is brand new and cost more than $30.00. Basically, If you liked the other one, You will love this one.

I give it a 10/10.

Meh. Madden is the same thing over and over again with slightly improved graphics. The "only control your player" thing sounds better than Madden 06 was though. I hated being responsible for the whole team even when I am virtually only acting out the role of 1 guy.

My brother bought this game a few nights ago and It's alright but I'm not too impressed. If you have Madden 06 it's basically the same game with updated players and a few tweaks to the superstar mode. As a side note, the "only controlling your player" thing gets old fast since the AI also picks your team's plays, and they don't do a good job at it. The new kicking system is nice, and it will be familiar to anybody who's played the Tiger Woods series.

Right now I just finished a Fantasy draft for franchise mode. I've got a few of first rounders from last year's draft on my team, including Vince Young, Reggie Bush, Lawrence Maroney, and Santonio Holmes.
