Back to Madrid, I noticed a lot of place names did seem to remain. Santander, Barclays, even the Tío Pepe sign... they are all there. The sign at Puerta del Sol isn't surprising, but I thought the banks were a neat touch of detail.

It is, on the left. You can also find a building with the Sony Computer Entertainment logo on it. I am guessing that is where Sony Computer Entertainment Japan is located?

No. Look at the next business establishment... it says "CERVECERIA". I think that loosely translates to "Place where beers are sold". Or brewery.

Cerveza is spanish for beer.

There's that icecream fridge with advertisement as per the game. It really is impressive that the game detail is so high = IRL.

edit: FYI the next camera position along the road was more in front of the shop, but there was a group of people blocking the icecream ad.

I don't really think PD would make them pay to be in the game. They even said once that some car makers were offering them money to be in the game, but they refused the money.

Thats BS, so my Evo VI Tommi Makinen Rally Car doesnt get its Marlboro Livery but that crappy sign does? And the SILKCUT Jag, Martini Lancias etc...PD should have included REAL liveries, and have a "parental control" filter in game which replaces alcohol tobacco gambling liveries with the blank ones we have now. I think its safe to say 75%+ of GT players are adults.

Maybe 75% of the serious players, but I think the total is probably a lot lower. And having the option makes the game age rating much higher (even if it is off by default). Therefore they would potentially lose a lot of sales.

I've been doing some searching on that sign. Clearly a guitar and turntable are visible, so music must be involved. And as it turns out "ANANDA" is quite the nightclub in Madrid. I also believe it says "24 de junio 00:30 horas", or 'June 24th @ 12:30am'. Talk about small details 👍
