I haven't seen this posted and I hope it's okay to start a thread on this.

While this does not mean an update is coming, if one should appear then I will change the title and we can use this as a thread for the update. :)

At the following time we will perform maintenance on the servers for Gran Turismo 6:

Start: 05/14/2014 05:00 EDT
Finish: 05/14/2014 07:00 EDT

During the maintenance, it will not be possible to connect to any of the online services.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your understanding.

*Please note that the maintenance time may be subject to change.

Edit:

After some cryptic messages by @amar212, it sounds like GT6 will be getting an update with this maintenance. :)

Had anyone thought that the maintenance are for an patch which patches the hacks people had done.
Or
Maybe because their announce for Gran Turismo 6 is on 15th may 2013 so it become 1 year after that.

Sounds like we're getting an old layout of Monza, complete with the old rettifilo chicane! good stuff!

I guess then 4 DLC vehicles for the Senna content? Kart, maybe his old Ralt F3, Merc 190E, and then culminating in the Lotus?

Wait. OMFG

"tracks like the Brands Hatch GP circuit and the Italian circuit of Monza, which have been given a complete makeover in order to restore their original layouts from the '80s."

omg 80's version of Brands

Looks like the Senna stuff won't be coming on the 14th though

'The following content has been added to the "Ayrton Senna Tribute" special section of gran-turismo.com, before the release of new in-game content planned for late May exclusively on PlayStation®3.'

So late May as in May 31st, 11:59pm in Hawaii?
Or late May like the late February track update? I noticed they haven't specified a year.

I look forward to seeing the content when we get it and then no doubt being upset by it's sounds or something.

I used to be positive once. Honest.

Generally Gran Turismo 6 dysphoria wears me out but that was quite funny

Is there a map of the layout?

This was the layout used between 1976 and 1993. I assume this is the layout we'll be getting, but who knows.

The old rettifilo used to be the scene for many first lap pile-ups, notably Ronnie Peterson's fatal accident in 1978.

Every time maintenance is announced a new thread is created assuming there will be an update. Most of the time its just maintenance.

Apart from that, the second chicane is slightly different, and both Lesmo corners are significantly wider and faster.

Serious question, as I am curious about this, rather than simply cynical of PD here...

So, are they additional tracks themselves, or are the regular on-the-disc tracks now temporarily 80's layouts for the month of May ?

I'm assuming that they have to be new tracks added, in their own right yea ?

Either way, i'm very happy for new content soon

PD have made some weird decisions in the past, but this is far beyond that and would be the dumbest choice ever. I can't imagine them doing that.

There pretty much add-ons that are on-disk tracks given a makeover? :)

They will probably be avail in special events only. So a slow useless go kart, an f1 car and "redone" tracks. Sounds rather useless to me. Not much content, sounds like a normal update.

Keep up the good work PD.

I think i would agree with that logic. I think i was slightly thrown by the wording used is all :)

I really can. This year has proved that PD may just even do stupid stuff like that.
