Well, I've already got a new head, along with various other bits'n'pieces laying in my bedroom. The reason I'm thinking of buying a new engine is that there's a nagging thought in my head: spun bearing.

I don't think that I have a spun bearing, but you can never be too precautious.

Whats the cost on a a crate SRT-4 powertrain, that would be sweet to drop in an older neon...kick ass sleeper, thats for sure !
 
A crate SRT-4 motor? Not cheap!

SRT-4 motors have been dropped into first and second gen neons with success, but the motors have been from wrecked SRT-4's.

From what I understand, most of the times where SRT-4 engine swaps were performed, a wrecked SRT-4 was bought or bought back from the insurance company for cheap, then all of the useful and sought-after items were sold for a profit. Such as: engine, FMIC, seats, shiftknob, brakes, exhaust, turbo-manifold/turbo, wheels...you name it.
