My friend, who got me hired, quit today.
My boss calls, and says "Hey! Hows it going there John!"
"Ya want some more hours!?!"
As soon as he said that, in my head I thought "Uh oh"
Me: "Did Anthony Quit?"
Him: "YEP!!"
"Come in tomorrow and we'll get ya some more hours"

If I have to work all his hours (Every day, 3-8) I'll have to umm, kill someone.
If I were desperate for money, that'ed be pretty sweet. But I'm not.
I'm a lazy bum who doesn't wanna work at all.

So, I need someone to replace him within the next few hours, to avoid stress. I don't care who the **** they hire as long as I don't have to work.

I'm gonna go to the mall, find some broke arse stoner and get him the job.

Doesn't matter to me.

The Supra comes no sooner (and no later) than June, and I've explained that to you.

Ooooooh, cry me a freaking river. I worked 66 hours in four and a half days last week. I don't want to hear it.

Shouldn't have read it then.

But thats not the point Duke.
If I wasn't so worn out after work, I wouldn't mind. But Every day I work, I come home in pain.

If I sat in an office all day, I'ed like it. But I sweat all day, or I freeze.
So It's not about how long I work, it's more of "I Don't want to hurt so damn much"

I thought you worked at a gas station? How physically demanding is that? I have about 6 friends who pump gas for about 5 hours day who say it's not to bad (they go to school during the day too!). You can do it... and some more money laying around never hurts

Ok, then I'll jump in. I work 12 hr days three days a week. That usually works out to 13hours, and then I spend 45 minutes in the truck driving home.

I work on a Hospital Rehabilitation unit. I lift people, into wheelchairs, into bed from wheelchairs, I help clean asses, I dispense narcotic pain meds, I dispense cardiac and diabetic meds and have to keep straight what I've given to whom.
After a day's work I only hurt when I'm breathing.

Cry me a river, build me a bridge, and get over it.
IF you put in the hard time now, the boss seems to like you and is ready to give you some hours. If you are "faithful with the little things" you may be entrusted with the big things.
SIUDO (Suck it up, drive on).

Mind if I hop in? My summer was from 8-5 every day... the drive to/from work was 35 minutes. Then 2 days a week, I had to get to the train station and I then had class from 6:30 to 9:30. The other 3 weeknights were spent doing homework for my summer classes.

Last year, my summer was spent working anywhere from 8 hours to 16 hours per day operating a printing press. The loud noise, the weight of the paper (some cartons weighed as much as 80lbs), the heat, and the chemicals was just killer for motivation... but I still stuck to it. I made damn good cash doing that *and* I helped my brother a LOT with keeping his business running smoothly in doing so.

As Gil said. SIUDO :)

Here goes....work begins at 6:55am and officially ends at 7:30pm. I leave usually 15 minutes to one hour later, depending on how much follow-up/late-night drops/homestarrunner.com I hadn't been able to catch up with during normal buisness hours.

Then again, Duke, Gil, emad, and I probably make quite a bit more than SeñorX does.

Why don't you quit, too, if you hate work so much?

I work 5:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, often longer, like today.

The week leading up to October 2nd I worked 66 hrs.

Awesome. I work a couple 12 hour days during the weekend just about every weekend.

Plus I've got that school thing. Plus I need to get another job. Plus, that's it.

I'd work more often if I could.

My grandfather had to walk 35 miles to work every day, through the snow, even in the summer, on bare feet, his shoes-- no, clogs had been put in the fireplace because they couldn't afford to waste anymore coal-- in fact, most of the time, instead of coal, all they would have was a little piece of paper with the word "coal" written on it. One day my grandfather had eaten the little piece of paper, and when the coal delivery people came to deliver the coal... you're still reading this, huh?

8.50 an hour where I worked for this summer, $20 an hour last summer... damn I want to run that printing press again

What a wuss!

My father walked 40 miles to school every day (yes, even Saturday and Sunday) through snow. He had shoes, though--well, they were plastic bags tied to his feet, but it was something. Amazingly enough, he walked uphill both ways, and he had to carry his sister's books.

I'm still in awe.

You forgot "uphill, both ways".

Mostly I work a straight 40-hour week, I admit. But OT happens, and often I take work home. Get over it and wear a damn sweater if you're cold, MistaX. Ever heard of Carhartt?

Yeah, working for a living is a *****. But I wouldn't know because I spend all my time at GTPlanet and a phat check shows up twice a month.

EDIT: killed by move your feat ... oh well, just barely, better luck next time! Now time for bed ... 👍

I gues what we're all saying is that if, like most of the rest of us, you weren't born into a wealthy family, then work is the order of the day if you want to fulfill your two worst habits(That would be eating and sleeping indoors).

Those of us that bust our asses doing the daily grind get a bit pissy when somebody working a halftime job gets in our grills and tells us that he's a lazy bum that would prefer not to work, but wants to get all the crap he desires.

Please accept my sincerest: get off your ass and get back to work!!
