What happens when NASCAR races at Watkins Glen? There's 7 right turns, and only 4 left turns.

See? Throw a right turn in there and the fit hits the shan! :D

For the record, I don't like NASCAR but I do respect the skill and endurance needed. Some days though, doesn't it seem like a bunch of guys driving in circles between accidents?

Yay!

Let's all beat up on them left turnin' southerners!

-No offence to southerners of course. (Nascar drivers not form the south, please do take offence) 👍

Those of you who don't like driving in circles probably won't care, for everyone else that loves racing in whatever form here is a link to some of the most intensive racing you'll ever see!

These guys are crazy and what they do on a weekly bases during the racing season would give most "racing" drivers nightmares.:bowdown::gtpflag:

Just wish PD would have put a couple of these cars and a dirt track to race them on in the game.:D

You can dumb down any other sport in the same manner and be equally as incorrect.

I see your spelling and grammar mirror that of your racing intelligence.

Can't my friend, not home right now... but shoot me a friend request and I'll give ya a little race when I'm back from my vacation

And to that other guy (who's name escapes me) who said I can't drive... please do the Nurb seasonal in under 5:50 seconds... then you can talk to me about driving 👍
Which one? There's more than one Nordschleife seasonal.

They should do more races like that one.

Saw some of that on ESPN or Versus once...crazy, crazy stuff! One of the drivers was only 14 or 15 and clearly had a good future ahead in the sport.

True enough, but I think amongst the motorsports where destruction of your car is not the object, NASCAR fans tend to be the most into the crashes. A quick survey of the people I know into NASCAR: young kids are in it for the brightly painted/stickered cars, most males for the crashes or noise* and the females for the "hot dudes in sweaty jumpsuits". Very few even understand the sport or the strategy. I stopped being a fan when I got over the colors and when all anyone wanted to talk about was "that pile up in the last corner". In fact I tend not to talk motorsports with anyone because nobody sees it as a sport and not a spectacle, which is the unfortunate downfall of auto racing in the US. People expect it to be like (American) football and it just isn't.

*Must admit, if you are standing in gasoline alley as one of these behemoths rolls by and you don't smile/grin/smirk, you are probably just pretending to be a human male. :dopey:

oval racing is not real racing.

300,000+ fans at one of the most historic races on earth (perhaps THE most historic race) disagree with you... Come to Indianapolis, we'll show you a good time! I believe the Indianapolis Motor Speedway holds the world record attendance for a motor racing event.

I'm into NASCAR so i can watch Johnson blow up 6 laps from the finish

Unfortunately so did Stewart...bad day in the Hendrick motor shop.

You're using the argument that they have a lot of fans? You realize we're talking about nascar fans right?

Bwahahahahahahaha .... oh, you were serious..??

Europeans' were racing in the millennium before Indianapolis was even built. Whilst I will concede that squeezing 0.01% of the US population into one arena is marginally impressive (Goodwood Festival of Speed sees attendances of 150,000, or 0.2% of the British population), I think you need to get a grip on your inflated opinions. The significance of Indy racing and NASCAR is much smaller than you think..
