Someone said I could make adjustments on the fly such as TCS, brake balance and so on while on the racing circuit using my DS3. I have searched everywhere, but cannot find how to do so. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

EDIT = I think I have it figured out, I am assuming the RA button assignment is the key?

I feel like an idiot... :D It's only taken me this long to figure out button mapping on the DS3 since the release of the game.

Checking out the options menu goes a long way my friend!

whoa whoa whoa. i can change the settings to my car, while i'm on the track?

like i can be driving, hit a button and change my suspension settings?

No. You can hit a button and change:
TC
ABS
Brake Bias
ASM

Ya, it's the RA button in the button assignments. But, to use it you'll have to change the button assignments. To use it you need 5 different buttons.

I use this feature all the time on my DS3. I have the select button to turn on the menu, then D-pad up/down to pick setting, and left/right for actually changing the setting. It is very helpful for me.

Can anyone give me small description on how to do this.. and does it also work on DS2 ?

Something from a quick google search:

There is a great way to adjust certain settings on your car during a race, very useful for the longer endurance races, especially those that have variable weather conditions.

With this, you can adjust brake bias, ABS, TCS, etc.

Here's how to set it up for the DS3 (aka- the normal joyapd controller), you can also set up some wheels to access this too, depending on GT5's support for your own wheel.

Go to the button assignment menu, and select which button you want to bring the in-race menu up with. I would choose L3 (which is downclick on the left stick), but you can use whatever comes easy to hand while you are actually driving, so that it doesn't make you lose control.

Then select the traditional direction buttons to select setting and to adjust the chosen setting. I would choose the UP and DOWN to scroll through to select the setting to adjust, and LEFT and RIGHT to adjust the values of the chosen setting.

So now, during the race, pressing L3 will bring up the menu which looks like the picture below. Use UP/DOWN to select the setting to change, and LEFT/RIGHT to decrease/increase the value of that setting. L3 will also close the menu or it will close by itself ofter a few seconds.

I don't do it much with the DS3 but often use it on my DFGT wheel. Sometimes several times a lap with brake balance.

why is it better? i am interested.

my guess is less lag because its wired?

Well, with DS2 I can do the driving as shown in my sig link for my videos, watched them if you wanted to see how it allows me to brake and gas with high accuracy, 0%-100% input in a whim. I can run high BB without ABS on comfort tires using 500 to 600+ pp cars, check my Zonda R and Ferrari's video there.

Simply put, the DS2 has better face buttons ( square/triangle/circle/cross), they need 3 times more pressure than DS3 buttons to get full 100% input.

Both DS2 and DS3 perform exactly the same, no lag issues, the only difference is on the face buttons pressure sensitivity. That's it, there rest are exactly the same, even the DS2's L2 + R2 works just like DS3, even with shorter travel - as DS2's shoulder buttons need more pressure to apply the same input as DS3.

The best part of this "adjustments on the fly" thingy is that you can change the brake balance (or even torque balance) on cars you're not supposed to tune. It isn't a really big deal, but you can brake later than the others on shuffle racing. 👍

I have used it quite extensively already, I should have been doing it YEARS ago!

I've used this for a fair while. Helps when you are doing 1 make races etc or struggling with tyre wear in a race :P
