I tried a couple of times to open a new thread in the Cars in General sub-forum, and everytime I hit the "submit New Thread" button, I was taken back to the main page.

Yes, I'm logged in and yes I clicked the right button. Nevertheless, after being sent to the main page, and going back to the Cars in General forum, the thread hasn't been created

Are you able reply to this thread by copying & pasting the exact text?

If it's what I'm thinking, this issue has been brought up numerous times and AFAIK, there hasn't been a solution.

I just copied the text in my previous post and wa sable to post here... or maybe that's not what you were asking.

I did indeed copy a large portion of text and pasted it in the new thread I was trying to create, but I also typed something before and after that block of text.

No no, what dougiemeats was asking you is if you can take that exact same text you were going to post, and post it in here. There are some strange letter combinations that have caused this problem in the past.

Testing:

fetch

Okay, it’s a parsing issue of some type – there is a problem only if the word “fetch” is surrounded by spaces. For example, it shows up fine underneath Testing, because it’s surrounded by line breaks. It also works fine two sentences ago, because I’ve surrounded it with quotes. But when I tried to post a reply that just said a fe:tch b (minus the colon), it wouldn’t work. I’m wondering if vB is translating “fetch” as some kind of programming function?
