Thy humble request has been heard. tell me, lad, what's the problem and with which car?

Thank you Leo. I'd like to know what you think of either the Spirit @ 400hp (Stage 1 turbo, full "background" tuning) on S2s or the Legacy B4 Blitzen.

You know what's funny? This thread has been around since a month or two after MFT started and it's gotten half the traffic of the newer "copycats".

Must be that Mallender Racing simply doesn't sound exciting enough. Not gonna change that, though,

Ah well. Leo, the test would be greatly appreciated.

Alright, I tested your Spirit R and it was pretty good. I upgraded it to 428bhp, but otherwise kept your specifications.

the ride was pretty stiff, with minimal nodding under braking and acceleration. Grip was good as well. Only thing that bothered me was surprisingly strongish understeer at high speed sections of GVS. nothing that bit of downforce or softer front suspension can't fix.

Also, I couldn't quite set the gearbox to those ratios. Some of them were far off, but it still worked rather well. Traction issues were minimal.

What could have screwed with the ratios could've been setting it up wrong.

From default, set the final to 5.500, then autoset to 1, now set the ratios and turn the final to 3.080.

I'll bring it back out to try to fix that understeer.

soo, does leonidea get a car tuned for him by mallender now? heh.

it's in good fun no one get their pantie knotters out.

No, as the first post currently says, he could've just requested one. :p.

Yeah, Leo gets a Fiat 500R. j/k.

I did the tranny trick, but it still was wrong for the two first gears. I don't know why, I tried it multiple times, always same result, no matter which order I did it in. Your car has bit too much grip in the rear, and too little in the front.

The rear was fine even under hard acceleration. Just the front end needs tweaking.

As weird as it may sound, the amount of hp or sc/na/turbo affects the transmission as the minimum and maximum ratios vary depending on the engine. Ain't that some bug, huh!? This is the case at least with some cars. I think this bug was mentioned somehow in the MFT-thread.

just a question how can the amount of hp effect the trannys ratios? it should stay the same no matter what hp upgrades you have. unless you have bought a diff tranny. hmm good statement Quattro 👍

Leo bought engine balancing and I didn't! there it is!

Engine balancing affects how high the car can rev, and that affects how it can be geared.

D'oh!

Well, I didn't regear, but I DID, however, make it cirner better. To save you from hitting a link, here:

Must have FC suspension, weight reduc stage 2-3, and a LSD. Trans reccomended. See notes.

SUSPENSION:
--------------------------------------------------------------
Spring Rate:-------7.5/9.0
Ride Height:-------120/130
Shock Bound:-----4/3
Shock Rebound:---5/4
Camber:----------2.3/2.0
Toe:--------------2/1
Stabilizers:--------6/2
-----------------------------------------------------------------

Transmission:
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Final to 5.500, auto set to 1, then set ratios and final.
Ratios are [2.730/2.018/1.593/1.315/1.135/1.000]
Final of 3.080, see notes.

-------------------------------------------------------------------

LSD/Downforce and others:
-------------------------------------------------------------------
LSD: 7/30/10

Downforce: None, but see notes

Aids: None at all
--------------------------------------------------------------------

Notes: This car will work at sub-450hp levels on S grade tires very well, but adding downforce will help the car on these tires as it's easy to overdrive it at the limit at 400hp. It'll stay happy on R1's all the way up to full power, but wheelspin can be a problem in first. Hope you like the balance. Preferred is S2s @ 400hp or so.

Extras: Racing brakes and balance controller:Balance to 5/5 on S, 5/3 on R.

Downforce: Untested, but should make this into the ultimate supercar whoopster. Cornering would give a good Group C a run for its money.

Notice: After Leonidae ran into gearing problems, I realized that I hadn't run engine balancing. So, to get the ratios, do not install the engine balancing until after setting up the car! *Grumbles*

EDITED FOR BETTER PROWESS

I tested your 787B endurance one, it simply smoked whatever I took it to, amazing car :) (I don't believe in long reviews for cars that worked perfectly for what I did.)

Cool.

Could be that it's a 787B. And 787Bs rock. And I made it easy to drive, despite a lack of aids.

Sure.

Spring Rate: 0/0
Ride height: -256/256
Bump: 90000/0
Rebound: 0/90000
Camber: 0/0
Toe: 0/0
Stabilizers: 256/0

There. :p

You never said it had to WORK. Lol.

And you didn't actually need to test the 787B. First post.

Well, this concludes a failure of a tuning garage. Rec'n'Race is now the home to most of my old tunes, so this is the end.
