The article said that he had installed a supercharger so that he could reach 200 miles this year. So he did, and the man died happy. 👍

Rest in peace.
 
I give the man kudos, honestly. It's tragic, but if I had to come up with a list of ways to go out as an older gentleman, I can't think of anything much better.
 
I do understand that the man had a heart attack, but shouldn't he have questioned doing the feat before actually doing it, considering he was relatively old?

I'm not trying to be a jerk here, I do feel bad for the man and his family, and kudos to him. However, couldn't have this been avoidable?
 
Truly a shame, tragic a lamentable incident.
I hate how the press labels the incident, headlines like this is what gives motorsports such a bad image and will eventually kill the grassroots side of motorsports.

Well you may want to rethink your posting strategy because that's sure the way it comes off to everybody else. Who the hell has the nerve to post about a car when a person had lost their life?


Anyway he must have had a good life to afford a car like that and be able to take it up to 200 mph. Dieing doing something you love has to be the best way to go out. Condolences to the family as well.

Well yes, but the driving part seems to be the bigger factor. In the end he got to experience life as it should be.
 
Are people seriously asking about the car? Come on guys, there is no denying the Ford GT is one sweet ride, but it should be the least of everyone's concerns to be honest.

When you get to a certain age, there's a random chance of dropping dead at any time.

Heart attack while flying a plane? Possible.

Heart attack while jogging? Possible. Hell, even if you're fit and fifty.

Heart attack on the toilet? Definitely possible.

Heart attack while eating breakfast? Possible.

What would we have everyone over the age of sixty do? Sit around in climate-controlled rooms hooked up to heart monitors and an IV feed line full of tranquilizers? If they want to live, let them.
 
What a shame, at least he passed while having fun.

I do admire a man of older age who embraces life in this energetic way.

One of my uncles passed away while jogging, he was fifty-three, used to have balanced meals, didn't smoke and didn't drink. Heart attacks can happen all of a sudden. Sadly.
