Does anyone know where I can get a copy on Video of that race, where Senna held off Mansell for the entire race, everyone says it was the best race they'ed ever seen I missed that one, I think it was during the 92 season??? Please help :)

The first F1 race I missed....and one of the few good races at Monaco. The United States saw exactly no footage of the event.

From what I read in Autocourse, Mansell led most of the event, and had to pit, whereby Senna took over. Mansell charged back, and hounded Senna until the flag dropped.

Mansell ran off into the distance. Pit with a puncture (which IIRC turned out not to be one anyway) and came out right behind Senna with 5 laps to go.

Monaco being monaco he couldn't pass.

A good 5 laps but my god would it have been a dull race.

F1king, there is a synopsis of the battle bwteen the two on Murray Walker's Greatest Moments in F1 video. I have that tape and it really illustrates just how much Senna was holding up Mansell and how desperate Red 5 was getting.

Try Duke Video they may have it. You can e-mail them as well and they may have a better idea of where you could find it since they are in the business. :D Good luck man.

I saw his last win at Adelaide in '93, where in a supposedly inferior car he just ran away. I sat at the fastest corner there (where Hakkinen was nearly killed in '95) and he was visibly faster through there - just an absolute genius...

And, need we mention Donington '93?

That's from Silverstone - is it from '92? - looks like Alesi in the disastrous double floor Ferrari behind Mansell.

Hate to be stickler for details, but it looks like Prost's helmet in that Ferrari. He had #27 in 1991....which puts our photo in 1991 Silverstone. Senna had run out of fuel on the last lap. In 1992, he had an engine problem (?) about 8 laps from the end.

Good picture, though!

It's definetly 1991.

Senna and McLaren started gaining some ground back on Williams almost from this very race, the cynics did mutter maybe he got something from reading Mansell's dashboard.

I think you're right - Prost did run 27 on the car in 91, and that was the year Senna ran out of fuel (and was classified fourth).

Senna broke down in '92 with seven laps to go (Alesi was running 27 that year after Prost's rather dramatic sacking at the end of '91).

Here's another shot:
