I can still change gears without using the clutch when I have automatic clutch set to off. So what’s the point or am I missing something?

I believe it only makes a real difference if you're using a wheel / pedals setup in combination with mechanical damage enabled. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

You can change gear in your real car without using the clutch. It will just be a bit crunchy

Okay. So I can change gear without using the clutch and with damage off it makes no difference. If damage is on then the gearbox will end up all over the track unless i use the clutch or I can match the revs perfectly.
