I've never really been a huge Nintendo fan, I actually still think the 3DS XL is better than the Wii U at the moment, but for some reason this and SSB4 is making me really excited.

... how much can I get a Wii U for?

The Premium/Deluxe is 428 Australian, however I don't know the U.K price.

Tesco are doing a deal for a Wii U 32GB, Mario Kart 8 and one of the free 10 game downloads on offer...

£190 :D

@RESHIRAM5 - SASRT is hardly even a kart racer I would argue, it's more of an Arcade racer like SEGA games of old...so comparisons are so annoying.

Amazon's showing me a Wii U for £160... a lot more than I can afford, especially since I also want to save up for a new PC. I might have to just buy Mario Kart 7 and the 3DS version of SSB4. (Or I could stop being lazy and get a summer job, I guess.)

The 3DS XL is a great console, I love mines...

MK7 on the other hand isn't anything spectacular. It's great fun for sure, and better than the WIi effort, but meh...MK7 is still £35, might be worth just putting that toward a Wii U?

Yeah, but I need more 3DS games anyway... right now the only games I have on my 3DS are Pokemon Y (ADD ME I NEED MOAR FRED SAFARIS) and some old DS games, namely Mario Kart DS and Custom Robo Arena.

Custom Robo Arena...you sir have incredible taste.

I don't have Pokemon yet. :( All I play is Animal Crossing, MK7 and Bravely Default.

Yeah, I can't remember where I picked it up, but it's such a fun game. I only wish I played the gamecube version as well.

Funnily enough the games that you play on the 3DS are basically all the games that I want. :P

I agree with that @Classic.

Anyway, I am really thinking of making a Mario Kart Tournament for us :D but I would need time ideas, tracks we race on, etc.

Well, I think it's better to see how exactly everything works in-game before planning TOO ahead, the fact we know for certain how Tournaments do work is useful though, and we look as though we will have about 6 of us from GTP at least.

Once we get the game, we can push forward with everything, I'm getting a DVR too so that could be useful for recording our races.

At least the races won't be boring with 6 people.

Few of my friends are getting the game too, so they could always join in . :p

Great.

However, time can be difficult to come by.

Maybe we need multiple GTP MK Tournaments to help peoples time needs.

I'm definitely interested in this, and you're right multiple tourneys would help. Maybe we could run divisions like in SNAIL (if we have enough people) but instead of skill level have it based on time zones. It may not be a great idea as I'm not good with things like that, but I'm just throwing it out there.

I'm sure we can find a good time for everyone without getting too complex! Time trial tournaments too. :p

Good point! I just can't wait until it arrives! I'm just thinking about all the things we could do haha. I wonder if it would be best to pre-order it. I don't know how big the demand is going to be, as I was thinking about arriving at Game Stop as soon as they open like I did when Wind Waker HD was released. So anyway, what new addition to the game is everyone most looking forward to?

I was never big on time trials, but I'm sure I can do some TT Tournaments.

@Mega Umbreon We could have GTP Mario Kart West (For North and South American countries), GTP Mario Kart East (For Australians and Asia countries) and another for Europe and Africa.

@Mega Umbreon The best thing fr me is the new Super Horn item, really is a game changer even if it supposed to be pretty rare.

I'm liking the look of that as well. I'm really looking forward to the ability to upload replays to YouTube, something I desperately wish Gran Turismo had. The whole thing is going to be new to me though it seems as since I haven't played 7, I have no idea how the underwater or glider sections of races work. I'm so excited about this game that I actually went and got a Luigi green kart to race with on GT6.

Listening to the soundtrack, right now. It kicks so much 🤬.

Am I the only one, who likes the new Rainbow Road. The music is brilliant and it has the racing like atmosphere I always wanted in a final race (in front of a live crowd, in a stadium like structure). The space station part is pretty neat to. The only thing I don't like about it is because it is a bit short but Aside from that, I think it is fantastic (Not my favourite, that would be Mario Kart Double Dash Rainbow Roads).

Having just watched Gamexplain's hour long Q&A session he seems incredibly positive about the game, however he did not seem happy with Battle mode.

I've probably played it like 3 times in the past 5 years so I dont care.

Reg. Rainbow Road, I am very underwhelmed tbh, it looks like a great track but it just seems a lot less for what potential it had.

It is a bit underwhelming, I'll admit (I expected it to be the best). However, it is still a fantastic track IMO. I would rank either 2nd or 3rd.

I will actually drive the tracks before judging. :p

That sounds good. And maybe if someone wants to races with another group they can feel free to,

Same here. I went and pre-ordered the game today so that will be in 26 days!

I have the special edition with the blue shell statue, red shell keyring, Bullet Bill T-Shirt and the game pre-ordered. :sly:

Lucky! I got the normal version, I thought I would be offered a key ring but I guess not haha. Where did you orders yours from? Also, is there going to be split screen online multiplayer?

The Nintendo online store! got it all for £60 so not too bad at all. There will be 2 player splitscreen online, still holding 60 Frames per second too, which is awesome.
