So what is the first thing everyone is going to do after the update? I'm heading straight to Big Blue to do a 200cc single race and enjoy the saxophone. :D

Dry Bowser, all day, everday (he'll be my second used character :D)

I reckon the final lap of Big Blue is WAY too much sax...

Leaving this as a spoiler for those who want to be surprised this Thursday.
Characters:
So it appears Dry Bowser will be in its own weight class, between the heavyweights (Morton, Bowser, Wario, Heavy Mii) and the cruiser weights (Rosalina, DK, Waluigi, Roy, Link) It's going to have more speed and weight than cruisers, but also have the same amount of handling and acceleration.
Villager will have the same stats as Tanooki Mario.
Isabelle will be a lightweight.

Vehicles:
The Streetle appears to have the same stats as the Blue Falcon.
P-Wing will have the same stats as the speed karts (B-Dasher, Mach 8, Gold Standard, Sports Coupe, Circuit Special)
City Tripper will have same stats as the Varmint
Bonerattler is an ATV with the same stats as the Tanooki Kart

Parts:
Leaf Tires are the same as Rollers/Button (acceleration wheels)
Paper Glider is the same as Gold, Super, etc.

Apparently the Bone Rattler is actually an ATV... http://www.mariowiki.com/Mario_Kart_8

Interesting for Dry Bowser though, I would have thought he would go to the Heavy Class with Roy, Waluigi etc. or the Metal Class with Metal Mario and Pink Gold Peach.

Also we need a Class name for Tanooki Mario and Villager, maybe, Welterweight :p?

Thanks. I'll fix that. :)
Very confusing :p. Looks like it's its own separate vehicle since it has 3 wheels
Also is it just me, or is Dry Bowser now going to be the most OP TT Character, since it has very good speed like the Super Heavys but also has its acceleration and handling better than the Super Heavys

It might be track dependant. I think most tracks will stick with Super Heavys, but I guess it's best to wait until Thursday to see what happens. :)

It'll be hard for the Super Heavies to compete with something that does the same (Speed) but does better in other departments, but we'll wait and see, I guess.

Guys, A huge plo twist.

I WAS ABLE TO RACE ONLINE TODAY!!!

It was pretty good but it was way too easy to race lower ranked competitors. I'll have to rise through the ranks in order to get some real challenges :).

Though, Online Battle Mode is actually very enjoyable. I really loved going around like it was a "hunting game".

I'll see if it'll work again tomorrow or if its a once in a liftime, opportunity.

That's awesome man! Great news...if you can get on we will have a good group of us. I was thinking rather than have an individual tournament for GTP we could just set a race 'day' and join a public lobby all together. Therefore, it would be a bit more exciting since VR would be involved. Plus, we can race as a team!

Had to back out for a second. My Luigi combo was just getting wrecked. Need to bring out the Heavy Mii so I can at least get to 16,000 VR by tonight.

This Update and DLC cements Mario Kart 8 as not only the best Mario Kart ever but one of the best games I've played in roughly 5 years. The amount of detail in everything is completely staggering and bloody hell, 200cc is everything I wanted and more.

Kudos Nintendo, for all you do a bit wrong, this is a testament to why I still believe in you.

COMFY.

Well after time trialing Big Blue all day, I've reached quite a big milestone. Not quite World Record, but it's pretty damn close!

Now to try some 200cc online races. :D

I've just been learning the tracks in order to attempt a full 3-star of 200cc offline on GP mode. Will be some effort I imagine.

200cc completely up-ends the strategies for drifting, boosting, jumps, jump boosts, gliding, and even shortcuts/routes to take. Also, suddenly the brake button has a purpose outside battle mode. It requires some adjusting. :)

It's marvellous:

@Classic -- No, because that's going to be Xenoblade Chronicles X. :p :sly:

P.S. -- NoA announced a Nintendo Direct for XCX tomorrow!! I wasn't going to doublepost-bump my thread until we find out what it entails. :D
