We work quite well as a couple too. We're both quite indecisive, and looking for an easy life, so if someone feels really strongly about something, then they tend to get their way. If we both feel really strongly, then we'll hammer it out, and quite often I win because I'm more persuasive, and generally have stronger groundings for my feelings (because if I don't have grounds for my feelings, then my feelings don't exist, so she gets her way).
The only problem is when neither of us have any strong feelings. We can then spend hours doing nothing, because neither of us can come up with a decent suggestion!
We've been together for like 5 years now, so we know each other quite well. I know most of her moods, and she can be quite set in her ways, some of which are completely irrational. I can then sidestep them, or shame her out of them. The best example of this is when she's doing some household chore, and I'm idle, because my chores are done. She will do anything to get me to do some new chore. She can get quite inventive at times, but I know what she's up to so it doesn't work any more!!!
