Marussia will be the final team to launch their 2014 car, the MR03. They were due to launch at yesterday's test, but found some kind of technical fault in the car and held it at the factory until it could be resolved. They confirmed that the car is now on its way to Jerez, and it is expected to be launched today, though they may delay until Thursday if they cannot get the car running.

Don't know weather to laugh, take pity, or thank god for giving us a brief reprieve from things that fell from the upper half of the ugly tree.

It is expected that the noses will evolve throughout the season. The front-runners have been bold because they have the resources at their disposal, but what we are seeing from most of the smaller teams so far - Caterham being the only exception - is a fairly simple approach. Most of them have designed a car and attached a nose tip, which can easily be replaced. With so many changes and challenges in the engine department, the midfield teams have gone for a stable, safe design that allows them to focus on the engine. Once they get on top of that, then I would expect to see bolder designs emerge.

I think the car is more likely to be unveiled tomorrow than today, especially given the apparent issues down the pitlane.

Marussia have a trend of very simple smooth cars with very few conditioners, winglets or even features. If they continue that trend we could be in luck and see one of the best looking noses on the grid... The new power unit should greatly increase chances this year as well.

Caterham had a similar problem yesterday. The difference is that Marussia picked up on it before the car left the factory. They were able to prepare it faster than Caterham could.

Anyway, the MR03 is not expected to take to the circuit until tomorrow. There is no word on whether or not it will be launched today or tomorrow - they may have chosen to wait because if the wet track.

On their way!

I know that the nose will be of the 'gentlemen's appendage' variety, but I only saw a prototype they were crash testing when I was around the factory before Christmas, so how developed it will be from then, when it looked very simple, I don't know (I'm guessing not very developed...)
Anyway, I'm looking forward to the launch of a car I personally had some input building! (and I promise it wasn't me who broke it :scared:)

Hmm... I don't know if it's just the camera but it seems more orange.

That's probably an instagram filter making it look orange, do I see white on the sidepods though? It is on of Marussia's colours.

At Jerez. Covered and noseless.

It may just be the camera. One of the most unique properties of red light is that it does not photograph well. In fact, Ferrari's red colour is specially-formulated so that it appears to be the correct colour on television and on photos.

However, you can clearly see what appears to be red paint between the vents in the foreground.

Tightening bolts doesn't count. :p

The red looks an AUTOBACS red, as that goes from bright and fluorescent red to a chromey-orange colour.

Especially when its under neon strip lighting, most cameraphones have pretty poor colour reproduction and Red almost always comes out Orange under neon lighting. But you can see the teams jackets are the right red as they are in the shadows.

Yeah, it looks like someone's left the flash on (biggest pet peeve!), in addition to the bright lighting in the garage.

Here she is, taking to the track for the first time!

What was the technical delay? It looks like the MR02 with a nose attached after, did the glue not set in time?

Devil is in the detail, but from just the 1 shot it is very difficult to see much change.

Schlong-nose.

It is getting a lot of complimentary tweets on BBC's live commentary - I wonder if it is because people usually object to change? It has a schlong nose, but for some reason it is nicer than the others?

Absolutely. If only Caterham unveiled their car first, then maybe the reaction to every other "finger nose" car wouldn't have been so bad!

I personally am not objecting the changes in F1 for this year, but the Schlong-nose is ridiculous.👎:yuck:

At least they designed the livery to hide the nose a little. But I agree, the look is a little ridiculous this year...

It seems like someone from ARTA designed the livery.
