I finished everything in the game with gold medals except this one race: Master S-8. After the last update, they made the car slower in straight lines and lowered the time for gold. Now it feels almost impossible. I play on controller, and I know all the tips and tricks. I’m not a pro, but I am a really good driver. I have a second old account where I already finished this licence. On that one, I beat the gold time by less than two seconds. But on my main account with the new update, I can’t do it anymore. I wish if there was a way to talk to devs , I know its not a big problem issue but why not.

Gold on my 2nd lap with controller just now, definitely not impossible - though it is harder than it used to be.

BB to +5 and don't be afraid to shortshift to a higher gear coming out of slow corners so you don't get any power oversteer. I didn't notice any top speed deficit to the ghost either so worth checking to make sure your controller isn't dragging the brakes or not getting 100% throttle.

I will give it another try later on with your advice but trust me you must be a pro. But even if you are a pro, there's no way you beat it by a big margin. You can't win by half a second diffrince, so I hope we are talking about the same license , the one with the Mercedes CLK master S-8 . My best time 2:9:450

Trust me, I don't think you're right:
Gold on my 2nd lap with controller just now
If you really want me to go do it now, I will. But beware, I am Quite Average and if I gold it there may be some collapse in your self-esteem.

That's Numberwang!

Master S-8 in the CLK-LM has Gold set at 2:09.000 as far as I can see. I think you're suggesting you're at 2:09.450?

I am doing a third run of GT7 and can confirm that several licence tests have become significantly harder. I am also an average but experienced player and have not managed S8 and several others, while I had completed the same in earlier versions of the game.

Reading this thread I thought I would give it a try. While it is harder than it used to be, it still only took me 8-10 tries. It should be doable for anyone with an ordinary amount of talent. Bear in mind that I am 69 years old, have scars and incisions that number in several feet, and am missing a significant number of my original parts (Gory details available upon request).

So the photo of the licence main objective will help us or prove that you finished it or it will prove that you are a 69 years old or you ha e some scares? Any one with ordainary amount of brain will understand this is not showing sizes of our parts thread, help or ....

Here's what finally worked for me after hundreds of tries (controller user):

  • Keep TC at 2
  • Turn all other assists off
  • Use manual transmission
The secret is the shifting: downshift to 2nd into the corner, then shift up fast to 3rd before exiting. This keeps the car stable and lets you get on power earlier without spinning out.

Follow the exact shifting in the video and you'll get it. I could have squeezed a bit more time but gold is gold.

Hope this helps others struggling with this license. Shoutout to the few who actually tried to help instead of just showing off.

I’ll have a try at this sometime, but I can’t help but notice you asked people to post a screenshot of gold completion and then proceeded to suggest one was showing off after posting a screenshot…

True borther but...

"I'm upset, and since you're asking, I'll tell you why.

When I posted here, I was looking for help in a thread that's meant to be about supporting each other. Instead, I got comments like 'I'm quite average and if I gold it there may be some collapse in your self-esteem' and 'It should be doable for anyone with an ordinary amount of talent. Bear in mind that I am 69 years old, have scars and incisions that number in several feet, and am missing a significant number of my original parts.'

Those comments aren't helpful. They're condescending and come across as showing off rather than offering genuine assistance. If someone wants to help, they can do so respectfully. If they just want to boast about themselves or put others down, then this thread isn't the place for it.

I came here for solutions, not to have my abilities questioned or to listen to someone humblebrag about how easy something was for them. I solved the issue on my own and posted the solution in a respectful way—the way it should be done. That's what this thread should be about: helping each other, not making others feel small.

So yes, I was upset. And I stand by that."

More or less so than determining something is "actually broken" and making out that the car is too slow and the ghost is fake - because you can't do it - only to subsequently do it, and claim that someone (actually two people) who tested it out for you didn’t actually do so?

I was going to test it out to show that even someone as middling as me could do it, but I didn't feel like having my efforts denigrated too and couldn't be bothered wasting my time on someone with that attitude.

As we've now determined that it is indeed not broken and all your claims of shenanigans are false, I can't see any merit in continuing.

Edit: Always they want to continue...
