We all know that a good reverse entry looks awesome...

but...

how to master one?

I either spin out, go bush or loose momentem around the corner :ouch: im only using a DS3

Is it better to fishtale in or e-brake on approach?

To get the coolest reverse entry's, stay away from the handbrake, it's the hardest way but it looks the best and will improve you understanding of how the car handles.

So do you reverse entry with power over then?

What?!?! Well, not sure how the handbrake is the hardest way (unless its the steering part) but yeah, kind of just throw your car & the 90 degree or over entry should come along nicely. The 1st turn on Tsukuba is great to practice on or on Trial Mountain, after the straight by the tunnel.

i like the second hairpin on tsukuba for these, think about it like this, you want to be facing the exit of the corner on entry/ initiation.

also* Depends on what (corner + car) you're on though wether you'd use the e brake or not. I love the e brake for long entries, but too much will stop you mid drift.

makes sense 👍 . The first corner on the Fuji H2H section is my favourite backwards entry corner. In D1GP the backwards entrees are getting about 20 degrees off parallel at max but in gymkhana you can go way past that when getting around a hairpin.

haha, I hope you don't bust out the perfect reverse entry during our battle, i haven't tried tandem reversy'z

I like reverse entries at speed. My best are done on the H2H sections where I'm able to get reverse entries on the first to turns under throttle, and carry 90 deg thru the turns while maintaining line, and hitting clipping points.

So do you reverse entry with power over then?

Slam the throttle to get the back end to start sliding, then let off and try to use as little throttle as possible to slowly bring the front back round and out of the corner.

Just takes practice and styleee. Good Luck.

PS handbrake is easier but not as cool.

Its actually very easy just smash the gas then steer and to get it reverse just countersteer a bit later than you normally do then when counsteering let the gas go. You will feel lik it wants to kinda understeer and then smash the gas still countersteering

Are you guys talking about 180 drifts, like that dude from NZ is doing in the RedBull Rx7 drift car.

Pressing/pulling the hand brake long should be easier to start with, of course without it, it looks nicer. If you ask me using the handbrake just very quick looks also nice just like kawabata's perfect drift.

When you think you can do it with the long handbraking, you should try a different way. First you have to know how your car responds after you pass 90 degrees. LSD 5 60 60 is good, I started in a different way, because I used a different style of tuning which was not as good as I got now. Like everyone says, you can do it also when you go flatout.

Keep your brakes at 5 5
A wing could help, or destroy your entry, depending on how you use the downforce and tuning. I'll upload a video soon. When you get used to it, you just go reverse without wanting to lol. I have it all the time and my team mates get pissed when I ruins the pace lol. In the end it will be as easy as using the handbrake.

Just keep in mind that a close run with your friends is better then anything !

No, we get pissed because half the time you either end up in a wall or parallel park.

Yup, but they're not 180, it's anything over 90 without going 360.

I see, well thanks I've learned something new. After I saw this vid back in October, I was also wondering if it's possible to do on GT5 and if it is how much would it help in head to head drift comp.

Thats one EPIC car.

Yeah its got swag. I haven't seen red bull ever sponsor a crappy looking drift car to be honest. If it weren't for the fact that NFS is all over it, I'd hope it would come to GT5 in some cool DLC drift car pack.

Use the first corner, not the 2nd section, you have a straight line to the corner and wont be thrown off by the S bend. Get more speed and start the initiation much earlier, I'm going to make a quick video now to give you an idea.

Here it is, the sound you can hear is the mad amount of rain we're getting today, and a bottle falling off the shaking desk as I enter the corner.

I think the line I take for the 2nd and 3rd hairpins on Tsukuba are backwards almost. Coming into the corner after feinting I get the car almost parallel to the curbing and get around the rest of the corner with good angle. I would imagine I'm getting backwards in some attempts. It is best on the first hairpin to go for a backwards entry as well to rotate your car enough to get maximum angle off a fairly wide entry

@GODfreyGT5: Good video. Getting a lot of speed for the entry looks really nice. What car are you driving in the clip?

I tried the rear entry drift a few times today at the eiger norwand short track first corner and couldn't do it to save my life!

Personally I practice my reverse entries at the first corner of deep forest raceway and at Tsukuba cause the tracks are so wide and making it easier for me to steer my car.

I like doing my reverse entries at Madrid. The immediate transition makes it difficult to hit the first clipping point with out hitting the wall.

mmmmhh...not really. you need to have skills to do it,you obiously need to take count on your speed, and on where to start the drift, you dont need luck to do it, insted, using luck would be the worst way to do it.when someone is taking an exam, he doesnt need luck,HE NEEDS TO STUDY for the exam , but yeah,i think suzuka is way to hard to practice backwards:crazy::lol:, then deep forest and tsukuba would be the ones i would pick to practice:)
