A beautiful car with good handling, but very under powered with only a 1.3 litre engine and also, sadly the chassis was not galvanised with the result that almost all have now been scrapped.

I remember it being sold in the UK as the Matra-Simca Bagheera, but everyone called it the "Two bird Bagheera"

The Matra Murena which replaced it in 1980 had a galvanised chassis and was therefore long lasting, but unfortunately lost the original cars beauty.

...........Since I'm back here, what the hell is a "Bagheera" anyway? And how do I pronounce this? Is it Bag-hee-ra or Ba-ghee-ra?
...........Man I swear this is why many European car makers use a simple numbering system....you definitely don't want a "Nova" incident!!

I like the exterior design of the car but I'm not friend with the three seat interior :P Here's some specifications:

I just noticed the white car in the background in the seventh picture down in the first post - a Talbot Matra Rancho. That's another very rare car which was heavily advertised in the Sunday supplements - it was decades ahead of its time as it was a fake offroader (front wheel drive) with a weak engine - something that the market is now flooded with, but at the time everybody just laughed. It even pioneered optional triple row seats and therefore predated the MPV!
