So, having been merrily snapping away for about two years now, and having now spent a reasonable amount of dosh on a camera, I thought.. what else do I need.....

... a GTPlanet photo thread obviously!

My old camera was a Canon EOS 20D, earlier this year I upgraded to an EOS 60D and have been trying to shoot using manual mode only since. I've currently got 4 lenses, Canon 100-300, Canon 28-105, Tamron 10-24, 50 (f1.8).

Comments and criticism welcome, but remember I'm a photographic noob, so don't get too technical! Also, I'm quite colour blind, and despite the majority of pics being at racing events, I have no media creds, so bear in mind I'm normally at max stretch on my zoom lens, and trying to focus through fences (and past Marshalls!).

To start of with a few shots from two events I visited this year, the WRC in Wales, and the WTCC at Donington. Not sure why I picked these, as I struggled to set the camera up for poor(ish) lighting conditions at both, and got very few decent pictures... photoshop to the rescue!

WRC Wales Rally GB, Dyfnant Stages, November '11

Bumped up the blacks a bit in photoshop because the mist had really stole all the contrast, but I quite like the pic, so I thought I'd give it a go.

Mini WRC, I liked the colours... simple :)

Old Cossie, I really like this pic, kinda moody.

I love Defenders! Slower than hell on the Rally, but cool nonetheless!

FIA World Touring Car Championship, Donington, July '11

Best pic of the weekend as far as I'm concerned!

I liked the photo but the white balance and possibly the ISO was well off, hence the heavy contrast effect and cropping applied later.

Arty red brake caliper shot.. hmm.

Don't much like the photo, used my 10-24 to try and get some interesting perspective, but again, the image was flat as hell, with little contrast... so it needed some tweaking. Still don't like it, but I figured it might be of interest given the subject matter.

Best attempt at this shot, not great, but you can see what I was trying to acheive.

Thought she was really pretty, 'nuff said.

C'mon Franz!

Okay so that's it for today, I'll probably update this regularly as I sort through my thousands of photos.

Great shots Matski! Really like the first shot on the page, Polestar grill and the rearview mirror shot. They turned out very nice and creative as well 👍 I will be stopping by here more often in the future I see. :p

The rear mirror shot is really nice, like it (they are all good ;))

The rally pics seem a bit too dark though (through my eyes, don't take my word on it)

Thanks guys.

the rally shots were difficult, the conditions were pretty poor, it was misty and cloudy, generally pretty dull. I was trying to avoid boosting the ISO too much, no tri/mono-pod, so I couldn't slow down the camera too much, and most of them were taken with my biggest lense which only goes down to about f5, so it doesn't suprise me that they appear a bit dark, although in the Cossie shot, I think it helps at to the mood :)

Well, since I've had a few drinks, thought I'd freestlye some shot's up'n yer faces without moving from my desk...

They are actually my LED fairy lights... check out the "desktop" thread...

So I got really bored, but I do like these shots.

^whoa, no more beer for that guy...

Anway, a few more from last year. These were taken at the V8 Superstars event at Donington last year. Good event, massively changeable weather, I cannot tell you how wet me and the EOS got during that bit, most of the shots taken after that particular downpour were 'misty' thanks to water ingress to the lens.

I took several hundred shots of the BMW's alone, these were just a few I kinda liked.

Also, I recommend Superstars to anyone.

^First and last shots are my favorites, rain makes everything look so beautiful. 👍

I'm liking that last one, a lot. Really nicely done. The first shot of the wet drifters is also really nice, superb composition on it. 👍

Yes - once seen, cannot be unseen. Great shots! I like how you say you get bored - then you grab your camera! The Rebel is a great camera - no drizzle is going to stop it! ;) Hope to see more of your creativity. :)

Okay, so felt like posting some more stuff, but couldn't be bothered to re-upload, so all of these are linked from facebook, you should be able to see them, if not, let me know... can't click for bigger since it's only Facebook.

All taken with my EOS60 over the past year or so... I just picked them at random cos I like 'em...

PICS REMOVED FOR NOW - LINKS HAVE GONE BAD

Thats it for now.

Went to Wales, took some pictures.. took a couple of hundred but I suck at landscapes so most of the ones that were any good were waterfalls.
