This is the discussion thread for an article on GTPlanet:

Mattel Brick Shop Launches With a Build-Your-Own Hot Wheels Range

Renowned toy manufacturer Mattel is moving in further on the plastic building block market with a new product line under the “Mattel Brick Shop” banner, launching with a range of Hot Wheels sets in various scales this summer...

Looks good, but will depend on the price point as always, Lego has just ridiculously high prices for some of their high end cars and also they take a freaking age to build which can get tedious 😁

Pretty much a $=£ conversion from the prices in the article.

I've been building Lego sets for years, but I've already seen some very interesting models from CaDA and Cobi.

Now this.

The Mercedes has definitely caught my attention.

Mattel / Hot Wheels has enormous potential since it has license agreement with many car manufacturers.

With video games going up in price and so many bricks to choose from, I'm going to have to ask for a raise at work.

Pre-Ordered, only the very bestest one <3....the NSX, looks fun!

Big difference between these and Lego is that mattel uses mostly model specific spesial pieces to achieve the shape, where Lego uses mostly more standart pieces and more model design to achieve the familiar shapes. To me these mattel sets look more like plastic modelcars made to resemble a brick model.
