Just got in from work and I am really pleased with the response.

I use ABS on 1 would this be ok
I'm not particularly good, back of the grid and all that
This is a network of friends so rules and conditions can be set up in game. Also I use a wheel on my days off but have to use the pad in the evening. The wife tends to burn my dinner if she as to watch coronation street over a MDF monstrosity with a steering wheel on top.
I personally like a mixed field of abilities we could always run a two class field to keep the bigger boys the other side of the play ground.
And I am sure the faster drivers will be happy to help new players with advice.

I don't even know how to add friends to my PS3 account
When in game hit the big button on the joy pad to check messages. Friend request will be in your message in box, Just accept.

And one last thing While I wait for the X-factor, strictly come dancing, Americas next top model marathons to finish, I will start to add you all to my friends list. Please feel free to use my lounge as a meeting place; I may need a second designated lounge off someone just in case mine gets full.
Thanks chaps.

Hi guys, what a great response, let me just introduce myself i have been lunchbox 147's partner in crime for many years now we have had many a night down the pub and many a night gaming, and is one of my best buddies, in fact if he got bit by a zombie and turned into one himself i would keep him as a pet in my shed and feed him daily on winalot prime, not shoot him in the head! im 34 and love GT5 but like lunchbox said i struggle to always play now due to work and family commitments but it would be great to have some good clean racing when i did get the chance, and dont worry i'll prob be at back of grid also, and let me tell you guys, the real reason why he uses is pad when his mrs is at home is because she said he looks like santa sitting in his sleigh when he is using his mdf driving rig, and before u ask yes he does have a white beard and a big fat belly!
Look forward to some good racing! maxspeed signing out!

I use pad also
Psn Name is: maxspeed_76

Please count me in. I'm 33 and use a pad. I have to finish doing my house up before I build a rig, but that is proving difficult as I am always playing GT5 now.

There's lots of people saying they are usually at the back of the grid! Should be quite competitive!

forgot to say im 34

And i think if lunchbox gets turned into a zombie i'll feed him bakers complete dry dogfood instead, makes less of a mess!

It looks like it will be quite easy at the front of the grid:)...how bad can we all be?

Well the ones to watch for me are d34no and wwr-basher, 5-6 sec a lap faster
Real nice to see you guys drive. 1:05.xxx on Tsukuba with stock cooper s 07 on sports mediums I think it was.

I gather the only way of making this work is if I add every PSN ID?

Or are you guys going to launch games from this forum? (By giving notification that you're going online).

Cheers!
Btw, I'm 25, is that mature enough? Ha...

Welcome Olly,
Yes you need to add everyone’s id or most of them anyways. This is a network of players, a grumpy old man’s car club if you like.

Races are organized through the online system, granted it’s not ideal at the moment. I have since found out I need to be in my lounge for players to join. Was hoping I could use it as a meeting place so drivers could hop in and out.

Yeah you have to hosting a game. You can always message people your game room number to getbthem to join. So far i am getting about 50-50 success rate on joining online racing rooms due to known server issues.

This is very true Lunchbox, You have to open your lounge as its a private room so people on your PSN list may join you. But once open you do not have to be there all the time yourself.

So long as someone is in the lounge the room will stay open, as you leave the host will go to the next person on the list, and solong as there is one person left it stays open, if not you'll have to reopen it again.

I would advise all your members in the lounge to get Acquainted with all the functions of the room, as all friends may make changes to settings and start races, also the names in the top right list, you’ll see them turn blue when at the track or black when not, if you run your cursor over these names it will show things like tyres, driving aids and if you click them you can turn on / off sound, plenty to keep you busy as you can see.

But I would make a suggestion that any changes made by guests are only made through the host at the time, that way one is in control at all times and no random changes are made or races started.

Phillip.

Sorry it was a bit long, but hope some of these points help you have an enjoyable lounge. 👍

Alright folks, I'm 33 and have a 3 month old baby, plus need to keep his mother on-side so can't play 24/7 as the little boy in me would like! I did recently join an F1 2010 league (at ultimate-racing.net) but am some way off the guys at the front, getting lapped every race by at least the leader (they are 50% races but still). I try and get online during the week but as you can imagine its a bit sporadic, so it would be good to add some of you as friends and if I'm online at the same time then crack on with a race or 2.

Cheers, Alex

Thanks mate, alas I think there will be some who can crack the illusive 1:04.xxx!

If that wasn't a challenge I'll eat my fanatec!!

It is great to see since your first post that there is clearly a keen interest to get some decent online lobby racing up and running while sony sort there act out with regards general online party play. Xbox scores with their system and I have been part of an awesome community for 4 years on FM2/3 which has allowed us to form racing teams and organise event championships and race series.

I think what you have started is brilliant, the more friends lists that fill up the better and easier it will be to find the open lounges.

As soon as we are ready, and if people are interested, I would recommend organising a time trial or hot-lap challenge with a specified car/power/tune where people can report lap times back to the forum. This will get things moving and create a competitive community. From that a race series can be arranged once we let everyone find the most suitable or preferred car, this is usually done by voting within the community.

Basically we found on FM3 that the more people we got online, the more successful the series. The points system and lobby splits is all done in qualifying and although quite tricky to manage works.

Sponsorship and prizes can be arranged, we had Fanatec in Germany behind one Clio Cup Race Series and the talent that arrived from all over the globe was remarkable. We even had Jason Bradbury from the gadget show get involved in the SEAT CUP series we ran. We had a Leon Cupra painted in the gadget show livery, sent it to him on e mail and he was back in touch immediately to find out what we were creating.

I understand that your original thread was written simply to organise sensible racing between mature GT5 fans, but i'm just throwing out the idea that race meets are usually held only once a week, the rest of the week is for practice in the nominated car depending on work and family.

Hello to all the guys who turned up last night and please don't tell anyone the reason I found the 1 lap of Nuremberg a nightmare was down to me not putting full beam on!!!

Hope to see some of you soon, hats off lunchbox!

All the best,

Nigel

Will be online from about 21.30hrs this evening, will send you a FR, please feel free to join lounge mate.

Hehe, it certainly is a small world mate :) Should be online at some point this evening, meant to be going out be it's way too cold out there for my liking

But I'm online most evenings, so yes I'll definitely join your lounge, thanks 👍

I've only hosted two online events, just with people on my friends list to get used to setting up and running them, before I post up any events on the GTP boards. Been successful though, had a great turnout saturday night for my classic Fezza's & Lambo's meet, although it did end up with us racing M3s in the dark on the Nordschleife, haha. But it was the great group of guys that joined that made it great fun, which in the end is what it's all about 👍

Sounds epic mate - I can't get over how awesome it is driving "The Ring" as its getting dark or as the sun rises, bliss.

See you later online

Nigel

I didn't know you could turn full beam on either! I Really need to do a bit more research!

Newly registered to GTP although have browsed many times previously

It would be great to get involved in some clean racing without the dodgem car drivers going round in reverse.

I appear to be joining the crowded part of the race as I am generally to be found towards the back but looking foward to a race or two. On-line activity will always be in the evening (except at weekend when I fight for the PS3 with my 15 year old son!) although work commitments tend to ensure I am away at different tomes each week so nights will vary.

You had to laugh, I couldn't believe I forgot!

Not sure which wheel you have but you can assign the buttons in the game settings menu for all car controls including the lights, horn, wipers, rear view, look L/R etc etc.

Good luck mate and hello St.Albans, another local!

Hello everyone..... first time poster here, although I think I've been lurking here from GT5's early development days, looooong time ago now!
