Well, I was sliding my DB9 last week with my Logitech Driving Force GT racing wheel. A day later I have a message "Maximum amount of USB devices power can be supplied, please remove at least one"

Though I only used Netflix this past week, I wanted to take a dent out of the "Tsukuba Roadster 4H" endurance event, so I get my MX-5 TC, "all using the SIXAXIS", I go to plug my wheel in and-Dead.

So I know it's a USB device so I unplug it, still don't work, unplug everything else, nothing, even with nothing in the USB area on my PS3, still get that message, still have a basically dead wheel.

It's an 80GB Fat PS3, Just posting here hoping that anyone can tell me how this problem got fixed for them, is my PSU giving out on my PS3? Did anyone else get this message? Did you get it fixed?

Interesting story, nonetheless not a GT5 issue. This might bring more insight.

Also, why are you assuming your wheel is dead? You should troubleshoot things first before making such statements.

I'd say your ports are dead and your wheel works just fine, but you need to try the wheel in either a different PS3 or a PC to confirm that. You also need to try other USB devices on your PS3.

You might want to backup your data, as this started happening to my PS3 not long before it got a YLOD. It definitely is a PS3 issue. I don't know if it is related to the YLOD, though.

Maybe a USB hub with external power can help you, for sure isnt solving the problem but you have nothing to loose.

Try it in a laptop. If drivers try to install in windows you can basically assume the wheel is working. Next, Try plugging a USB keyboard into all of the slots on the ps3 to see if you can get it working on any of them.

Thank you for all the replies, but I threw the wheel out, maybe I should explain, my brother bought me that wheel in 2010, it was used.

I turned off my Playstation 3 and back on using other USB object, PSEYE, and controller charged from all of the USB ports. So the wheel caused that message, and it seemed lifeless.

My theory is that my PS3 was sending a large amount of power to "work" the wheel, but none of the power went back to the PS3.

Now I will most likely will get a Thrustmaster T500 RS with the Shifter.

Strange seeing as DFGT gets its power from the ac adapter, the adapter would have been the first thing I would have checked out if the ps3s USB ports aren't having trouble with anything else.

Well, the same USB Port that I had the wheel plugged into, still charged my controller, and when the wheel was plugged in, it was as good as dead

Same thing happend to me,same wheel and ps3. After about a week of it not working I randomly plugged it in and BAM! Worked fine everyday until I got my g27.

PS. My wheel was also used.

Hmm.. Look like I lost my USB wireless to my Logitech Driving Force Wireless since I was put it in my room with everything mess up. I can't find it for whole time.

The reviews of the T500 that I've read were less than complimentary.
