It sucks you're Canadian and still this ignorant. You must have missed the original post. His reason is why the cap is rediculous.

This has been added to the list of **** this game has left to be desired. Weak.

I'm not actually Canadian, I've only lived here for four years.

I would actually like to retract what I said. After giving it some though, here is why I think this is a legitimate complaint.

Many of the $20 Mil cars are in the Used Car Lot. Once you save up the $20, running races yields no rewards, so it's a new kind of grind of starting races and quitting until the car shows up.

I apologise for my quick tempered outburst, the hate is getting me down.

God, I love playing this game, but everyday I find one ridiculous flaw after another. As Menown said above, this cap will be a problem if you're going to try to get some expensive used cars, which I planned on doing.

This is funny when you think about it. You buy the most expensive car in the game and right after you do it you can't even afford to change the oil. lmao

Yeah it honestly didn't bother me until the one dude said. You buy the car and then you can't afford tires... That was a WTF moment for me.

Thanks for the info OP! I am working my way towards $20mil. Guess I'll buy a classic (was saving for a purple X1) since I'll hit $20mil way before lvl 40.

EDIT: For those of you who say "it shouldn't be a surprise, it was like that in GT5P". Please note that most people didn't purchase GT5P since we were waiting for the final version. GT5 sold more copies in it's first month than GT5P has in total... Who pays for a game twice anyways?

Oh man, yet another stupid, boneheaded design decision in GT5.

If there has to be a limit, something like 2,147,483,647 would have made a lot more sense (2^31 - 1, highest signed number that can be represented in 32 bits).

oww my head :scared:

What makes you think that Forza has a cap under 20 million? I can assure you that you are wrong as I have over 38 million in my Forza 3 account right now and over 800 million on my Forza 2 account.

Agree. My Forza account is way over 20 million.

oww my head :scared:

The only point of this cap as I see it is so people who use gameshark (shame on them) won't be able to get loads of credits without at least alittle bit more hassle.

wait... is it just me or is that 100 million...
Yes that is 100 million 100 billion would have and additional ,000 at the end.
btw the cap is usually 9s across the board for how every many digits are displayed and even then lots of games allow you to have more but does not display it on screen.

its insanely high, something like 99 million or 999 million, either way its a lot. I'm at about 87 million so i guess i'll find out soon

It is way over 99 million. I sold a car a couple of weeks ago to a friend for 100 million and he still had plenty left over.

All idiotic things like this do is encourage cheating. I was honestly shocked at the birthday cheat, and how so many used it, but now, after seeing this boneheaded decision, I am starting to think that they made the right decision. A game should be FUN, not a grind, and no-one should EVER dictate how you HAVE to make or spend your credits (which is basically YOUR TIME expressed in cr.).

We need online credits PRONTO... Personally, I am NOT going to grind for weeks to get some of the more expensive cars. I WILL, however, play online races until my DFGT bleeds to get those credits! Because it won't be the same race against the same opponents time after time.

It's either that, or back to Shift for me. Haven't played an offline game on that for most of this year, but I can always get a quick, fun game (despite the bashers) and make credits (although I've got nothing left to buy!) there.

Boredom is the #1 killer of game franchises. Anybody else getting bored?:banghead:

Um, numbers are universal, there is no difference between countries. Writing and language is not. And the only thing that is in place of numbers is numerals.

Might want to retract your statement there.

Pretty sure the cap in GT4 was 999,999,999

20mill for GT5 is crap.

You buy the most expensive car and then can't win a race with it
because you can't afford to put decent tyres on it. :grumpy:

Pre-nerf for, umm I don't know, a birthday present exploit perhaps? They can remove it easily once the game-release dust has settled.

REALLY? The cap it 20,000,000, an amount that most people won't be getting for a while and it's more than the FM3 cap, and you're complaining about it? Really? Seriously?

Why have a cap at all??? The software will have a tough time making change from $43.5M? Like so much of GT5, it doesn't make any sense.

458

Because there was a risk that the game could be exploited somehow, the farmers make unlimited cash on it, buy FGT's and sell 'em off to suckers on ebay for closer to 100 bucks a pop.

Also, I resent the thought of nothing in GT5 making sense. What a blatant and uneducated generalization.

Calls a person ignorant then goes and spells ridiculous wrong. Pitiful.

People saying that it will/should be fixed in an upcoming patch..

I'm over this already, I have a crappy internet connection and can't download the patches. Already there are hundreds of mb of patches to fix things which shouldn't have needed fixing, which I'll need to take the PS3 to someone else's house to download.

How do they honestly feel proud about releasing an unfinished game and forcing us to download patches to slowly bring it up to standard?

So what? What is this fascination with keeping people from playing the game the way that they want to?

Also, I resent the thought of nothing in GT5 making sense. What a blatant and uneducated generalization.
He didn't say that. If you want to act all outraged and hurt, do try to actually read what has actually been said.

Again, so what ? The birthday glitch can already net you lots of 20,000,000 cars. This hurts people who are playing the game the 'right way'.

Totally agree.. i so badly needed a historic race car and couldnt get one for the life of me, then the birthday trick came along and i traded and impreza 22b for a jag xj13!!

I was thinking the same thing though it might have been 99,999,999 instead.

Well in all fairness you can buy the tires first and not install them. They will be sitting there in your items menu and you can install them after you get the car. This is true for all the various parts at the tuning shop. You can put them on whatever car you are in so long as you have not actually picked the install option when you buy them.

Yea because its a video game and how dare you have more than 20 million in your account.

See the sarcasm:grumpy:
