Certainly not something i need to worry about , i'm a compulsive buyer , it was hard enough saving to buy the Formula GT at just under 5 million , i have no chance of ever rreaching 20 million , i can't even save virtual money :dopey:

Thanks to the patch you can now gain 20 Mio. quite fast. I just got 7 Mio. in 2 days thanks to new events and lots of B-Specing. Racing myself, would be even quicker. I will try to get all expansive cars until the next patch which will reduce the rewards again :dunce:

The 20% increase in money is effective till the end of January.

I'm sure one of the ferraris is 22,000,000. A classic I think, might be wrong.

I think you are indeed wrong, I'm afraid.

I'm sure that the Ferrari F1 cars are amongst the most expensive in the game at 20,000,000 Cr.

Not to mention you can't save or use B-spec drivers in endurance races. It reaks of poor game design.

Your point reeks of someone who has yet to unlock the B-Spec endurance races.

There being a limit in the first place is silly. It doesn't matter what it is set at.

Agreed. If there must be a limit it should at least be 5 million more than the most expensive car in the game. Not too much to ask.

I can just see in a future update, there being a new car in the Dealership being over 20 million credits. I just know it.

No way... It'll be in the Playstation store for $4.99!

I can guarantee this 👎:grumpy:

I really had a feeling they were going to fix this in the update. Oh well. It's pretty stupid.

First, they have to see it as a problem. Just because we don't like it, doesn't mean that they still think it's the smarter way to go.

The running theme that is starting to creep up with me is that the creators (I'm not gonna put KY on an island here) seem to be a pretty stubborn group. They like their way of doing things and they like the decisions they've made. The latter point hails to the similar credit cap that GT5P had. They seem to have found a logical (in their minds) reason to cap the credits at the same figure of the most expensive vehicle.

You don't make a move like that twice if you didn't fall in love with it the first time. I, for one, skipped GT5:P (but was a huge fan of GT2-GT4) so I only know from this thread that the most expensive car(singular) in that game was the Ferrari at 2,000,000 credits.

I'm curious to whether or not GT5:P had the same tuning/modifications as the other GT games. The impression that I have is that it did not, so therefore once you bought the 2-million-credit-car you didn't really need the credits anymore. To me, that makes sense.

What doesn't make sense is to cap the credits at 20MM when there are multiple 20MM cars and additional modifications to purchase for them beyond that. I, for one, don't really care for trophies and I never have, but I do see myself getting the penniless trophy now because I do plan on saving up the full 20MM at some point and buying one of the cars (don't know which one yet). That, in and of itself, is really irrelevant when it comes to imposing a cap. It's really just some silver lining on the mushroom cloud.

Don't get me wrong. I LOVE this game. But I do see how it could improve in sooooooo many places. I hope that PD takes a look at these forums and reads what we say (with a grain of salt). We are all huge fans of the franchise, and share the same passion as they do for the perfect GT.

///As an aside: I love that I found this forum! (thank you Kotaku/Jalopnik!) The majority of you seem to be level-headed, knowledgable, and mature. I plan on sticking around. If any of you guys are looking for someone to race/tune/bs with... add me on PSN: xViLLaiNx12

If by majority you mean 51% then maybe I'll agree with you :sly:

The credit cap should be around the cost to buy all 4 of the old cars (P4, Mark IV, XJ, and the Obscure Alfa) AKA, 70 mil. Plus an added extra 5 mil for upgrades. 75m? That seems fair. Wait. Lets just round up to 100 Million. Well, we might as well just tack another zero on that.... See where it goes? Where does one draw the line?

The point is there shouldn't be a line, or the line should be drawn in a place where no one will ever find it, like the dark side of the sun for example :) Either don't set a cap, or set the cap to the max of an int/bigint. Either are simple enough options that are 100% better than the current pointless 20mill cap.

You'd get 4 trophies if you did that:

1. Penniless - 0cr
2. Multi-millionaire - 20,000,000cr
3. Expensive car - 100,000cr
4. REALLY expensive car - 1,000,000cr

EDIT: For those complaining:

REALLY? The cap it 20,000,000, an amount that most people won't be getting for a while and it's more than the FM3 cap, and you're complaining about it? Really? Seriously? "I'm sorry sir, you can only have 20 million dollars," "That's it? But I wanted to buy Mars AND Pluto. Oh well."

WTF you're talking about? FM3 is at 999.999.999 ...

If a credit limit is going to be imposed, then the gamer should a least know about it in advance. I will probably never do the 24 hour endurance race (would bore me after a while) but if I did, only to find out that I had raced it pretty much for nothing, then yeah, I would be pretty peed .

Umm...

1. Backup main save with 20,000,000CR
2. Create sub account on PS3 and request it to be a friend
3. Using main account, buy the 20,000,000 car
4. Gift that car to your sub account
5. Restore your main game save so you have 20,000,000 back
6. Gift the 20,000,000 car back to your main account and there you go - a free car with all of your money still available.

And this proves that Kaz has played the game? REALLY...?

The fact that this can even be done just once more PROVES that Kaz hasn't played the game. He's leave an exploit like this in? Right...:banghead:

Kaz lives in a world where he has 1000 cars in his Garage, and never had to grind for them, never had to watch B-Spec Bob act like a moron, never had to deal with the prize structure or XP points idiocies, and never had to gift himself a car from another account...

Must be nice..!

Good points, but you also can't neglect that underlying everything is the issue of time. This is clearly a rushed and somewhat unfinished game, and it's entirely possible they copied some code from Prologue and never got around to changing it.

That's what I'm hoping at least.

I don't see how hard it would be to make the limit, unlimited. I would grind so much more if I had intentions to save up a lot of money, but otherwise 20M credits isn't that much to have when it is the highest you can get.

I would like to buy a Chaparral 2J. I saw it once in the used car lot once for $19,2xx,xxx, but I didn't have the money then. Since then I've been saving credits, and I keep watching the used car lot. But this cap means that to get the Chaparral, I'll spend a long time, up to two game-years, with between $19,300,000 and $20,000,000 in my account, not buying anything big, waiting for the car to show up.

That doesn't really sound like a recipe for fun.

Psst.

This was a feature added because most of GTP whined about not being able to back up saves like little children. Now, everybody and their dog has three X1's, even those who could only bronze the B licence.

PD shouldn't have given in.
