Maybe just some opinions on a computer.

Use a 24" monitor for a week and try going back to a 17" or 15" (or even 13") laptop screen permantly. A 24" monitor is very nice and I'll never go back to something smaller as a my primary display.

Especially if you do any kind of designing the extra screen space is must whe you use applications that have lots of menus like Adobe Illustrato, I have a 22" screen I can't use because I'm stuck with a crappy all-in-one 17" Vaio.

Well, that’s what I used to say when I was using my dad’s 20" iMac as my full-time computer, but it was actually easier to switch back to a smaller screen that I’d have thought. I will say though that I’ll never willingly use a 4:3 format screen ever again – it makes so little sense compared to a 16:10 format.
