Is it really THAT BAD that the next car I really want is a Mazda 5? I mean yeah, besides the Ur _ _ _ comments I'm looking realistically here. Size to put stuff inside, still gets good gas milage, cheap, slow (my new fav).

I think it's underrated...

Well, it does have that whole "soccer-mom" vibe, but as far as practicality, you would have to spend a lot more to do as well.

A top of the line Grand Touring Model with everything will run you nearly $27,000.

You could get out for about $2500 less if you lose the Nav system and Satellite radio.

If you go for the more mundane Sport package, you lose the leather, but nicely equipped it'll leave the lot for under $21,500

I don't need anything fancy...

Nav system, no thanks...

Satellite radio, worthless...

Leather, Why... ?

Hell, I'd probably buy used.

I'm impressed with the gas consumption it gets. But that's about it. It's not too shabby looking, I suppose I wouldn't mind driving one. But not really the car for me.

But if you like it, that's what matters.

Well, over the years I have spent an inordinate amount of time in mini-vans.
I've actually had at least one in the drive since 1992.
While I truly came to hate the Plymouth, It drove a lot like a car.
However, when pushed mini-vans have a tendency to push back.
My Chevy has a V-8 and it feels like a 'gutless wonder'!
If your lifestyle, or desires lead you to a minivan, you could do a lot worse than the Mazda5.

I know a minivan isn't going to be a vehicle for performance and I would probably be thinking of it as more of a cruiser than anything else if anything. Glad to know a Mazda 5 isn't all that bad though.
