Chrome Lines were for the US Collector's Edition (NTSC), Stealth Models for EU (PAL). The only way to get the Stealth Model cars in NTSC was via pre-order rewards, which were different for each company. Additionally the codes have now expired, so it is no longer possible to get the stealth cars in NTSC areas, unless you cheat, via a method that I will be making an offer thread for soon.

Here's a list of how they were obtained.

Nissan GT-R GT500 Stealth Model: Best Buy pre-order gift
McLaren F1 Stealth Model: Gamestop pre-order gift, along with 2010 joey Logano #20 GameStop CAMRY (FANTASY)
Honda NSX GT500 Stealth Model: Walmart pre-order gift
Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Stealth Model: Amazon pre-order gift
Mazda 787B Stealth Model: Target pre-order gift

If you have all the Chrome Lines, then I assume you live in America, his PAL Stealth code WILL NOT WORK in America! It will allow you to claim the code, download them from PS Store, and "install" them. When you go to load the game, they simply won't appear, because they only work with the PAL version of the game. Otherwise, you can buy a PS3 that allows both version, but even then, you will have one save with one set, and another with the rest.

Your 100% correct except this part. You would need 2 copies of the disk. You can play PAL on your existing PS3 just by making a UK account.

Also, wouldn't the PAL DLC still only work with the PAL game, and vice versa? I know the saves won't cross over, an NTSC save won't work on the PAL version of the game.

IP address doesn't come into consideration mate.
You can only access PAL DLC through a PAL account on a PAL PSN store. But once it's downloaded, any account on the same machine can use it.
you'd need the PAL game disc to see the PAL cars though of course.
I cannot speak from experience as I don't have any stealth or chromeline models, but being an Aussie... the only way to play Mortal Kombat 9 online was to import the US game and redeem the online code through a US account on the US PSN store. Having done that, I can still play it online using my Aussie account.

Right, DLC installs for the system, rather than the account. Every account on my system got the chromes, the McLaren Stealth, the Logano Nascar, and the Edge Camaro SS.

However, the DLC installs to the game install files. So if it is a PAL DLC, then it would install to the PAL game file only, and not be seen in the NTSC version, because it was not installed to the NTSC game files.

In other words, you would have to maintain a seperate save for each version of the game, because they don't cross, and neither does the DLC. So, you COULD have all of them on the one account, but not in the same save.
 
Oh well doesn't look like i won :( but....

on the bright side i got the signature ed yesterday that had them all :sly:👍

I now have all stealth and chromes.

Wish i got the signature ed first :ouch:

The same way you make a HK account to play Asian games from eBay. PS3 system is region free at least the slim is. The disc are what is region locked.

Yes correct the DLC only works with the matching disk.

I call BS on this :) im from ireland (look beside my avatar) which is in Europe and i bought the collectors edtion from amazon.co.uk and i got 5 chromelines if you like add my psn and check my profile the chromelines are on it and if you click the gt5 profile pic it shows a irish flag

EDIT: not trying to start a war but just saying i got them in my EU collectors edtion i pre ordered it from amazon.co.uk its the stealths that cant be got here unless you buy the signature edtion or a pre order from a store 3 guys on my friends list i know personality are from ireland aswell and they have the chromelines they all pre ordered it from amazon.co.uk

I can confirm, I've also got a PAL version and I've got all the Chrome Line and all the Stealth Model cars

They will not show up on a US account, DLC is region locked as has already been stated.
 
Thanks shepzki. After further research I found out I can buy an Asian version of the game disc (comes with 11 DLC cars) then make a Hong Kong PSN account and redeem the DLC codes. Then use the Asian disc on my US PSN account and the cars should show up. It will be a separate gamesave than my US GT5 disc (with sucks becuase I have platinum trophy and 1300 cars), but that is okay, as long as I can use the 11 DLC cars on my USA PSN account (with Asian disc).

Hopefully it all works out well. I found the deal on ebay for just over $60 USD with free international shipping. So even if it doesnt work it's not too much wasted money.

No that's not correct you can't cross regions with DLC. You would have to start the game over on your Asian account.
 
Perhaps we should "Ease On Down The Road"💡 until DLC Stealth and Chrome are available in December for the Christmas Rush?

Read what I said. I may have not known about the "signature edition." I also stated that I assumed you live in the US, not that I knew you did. I also never stated that there was no way to obtain them in PAL regions, only that you can no longer get them in NTSC regions. Regardless of all that... NTSC codes CANNOT be used with a PAL game, and PAL codes CANNOT be used with an NTSC game.

I never called you a liar, scammer, or anything. For the record, I was not calling the OP that either. I was simply stating the facts as I understood them. You did not need to bring this to the comments on my page.
