Mazda has just celebrated its 25th Anniversary to the famous, and best-selling MX-5 Miata (Roadster in Japan), which they've created the 25th anniversary edition to the current MX-5 with only 1,000 will be ever made. But aside from that, Mazda is about to uncover the all-new, 2016 Mazda MX-5, simultaneously in Japan, the U.S., and Spain, just in time to celebrate its 25th year on September 3 (a day after my birthday). Its design will wear the company's Kodo design theme, but "will look nothing like its predecessor", which will likely revive the oval-shape grille. Its specs have been revealed in New York back in April this year, which its engine will have a choice of 1.5-liter, 1.8-liter and 2.0-liter 4-cylinder Skyactiv powertrain, that crancks up to 100hp for the 1.5-liter, 126hp for the 1.8-liter, and 167hp for the 2.0-liter. And it will weight 1,000kg, that's 100kg lighter than the predecessor. We will know more about the next-MX-5 once it was fully revealed on September 3rd. So who wants the #longlivetheroadster MX-5 in GT6 or future GTs? If you want it, then vote now!
Specs:
Engine: 1.5-liter four-pot Skyactiv engine
1.8-liter four-pot Skyactiv engine
2.0-liter four-pot Skyactiv engine
Power: 100hp (1.5)
126hp (1.8)
167hp (2.0)

You should wait until the car is unveiled.

This I am really excited to see. Mazda's new design language taken it's furthest yet with a lightweight sportscar? What's not to like?!

I wouldn't be surprised if we got this when it's unveiled like we did the BMW M4. Then again it will probably appear in Forza 5 long before a GT...

Well, the car hasn't been officially revealed, but I think having the new Miata in the game is a given.

Please don't say that to our lovely GT fans. :(
It'll hurt our feelings once it appears on Forza, and besides, PD has featured a lot of Miatas, so I'm sure that this could appear in GT6, just like what they did with the GT-R, the Corvette C7, the 86, BRZ, FRS, Aventador, the NSX Concept and the M4. So let's cross our fingers and hope that this will arrive in GT6 in time.

There's something about its front lights that reminds me of Toyobaru 86/BRZ/FRS....Not a bad thing of course. Wonder when this will arrive in GT6? The rear has definite hints of BMW Z cars and Jag F-Type. I bet this looks bigger in photos than in real life.

This one looks a lot more unisex and Mature. I like it.

Must it still be dubbed as a hairdresser's car still?

The MX-5 has only ever been dubbed as a hairdresser's car by men who are incredibly insecure about their masculinity, guys have been driving and enjoying MX-5's since 1989.

Come on Kaz, you know you want to! I'm when PD visited Mazda on Vision GT business this puppy got scanned, it wouldn't be GT without it.

Does anyone else think the headlights seem to sit just a little too low. Looks weird to me.

I think it looks great. The headlights look quite angry although they appear a touch too small or low. I'm not sure which!

The rear is fantastically modern and the taut lines are gorgeous. I'd hope to see it in GT6 as I don't wish to wait until GT7 to throw it about.

Attacking the roads of Zahara in this new MX-5 is so appealing.
